This project supports the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG) in mobilizing private investment in sustainable and inclusive infrastructure in sub-Saharan Africa and south and Southeast Asia. Canada’s contribution helps to scale up PIDG’s operations in early-stage infrastructure project development in poorer countries. It also provides targeted technical assistance to support gender lens investments, increase opportunities for women in existing infrastructure investments, document and share lessons learned on gender and infrastructure.

With GAC’s support, WFP works to save lives and help reduce the suffering of people affected by the humanitarian crisis. Project activities include: (1) the provision of emergency food assistance, including distributing powdered milk to vulnerable children; (2) raising awareness and promoting good nutritional practices to help prevent anemia, including breastfeeding; and 3) the provision of logistics services to support the humanitarian response and meet the immediate needs of crisis-affected populations in Cuba.

This project aims to improve the climate resilience of communities relying on forest ecosystems in Vietnam, especially women and Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLC). The project seeks to achieved this by developing a high-quality, inclusive and gender-responsive forestry carbon market.

Technical assistance will help small-scale financial institutions and their clients to improve the availability of financial products (such as microcredit and micro-insurance) and services to underserved populations, including women, small and medium enterprises, youth, and smallholder farmers. Project activities include: 1) Appui fourni aux institutions financière sur la réduction de l’empreinte écologique de leurs opérations; 2) Formation en éducation financière fourni aux micro, petites et moyennes enterprises, notamment celles dirigées par les femmes; and, 3) Appui fourni aux institutions financière pour la distribution de l’offre sexospécifique de produits et services financiers intelligents face aux changements climatiques auprès des micro, petites et moyennes entreprises, notamment les femmes entrepreneures*

Through this project, Global Affairs Canada intends to expand the United Nations partnership on the rights of persons with disabilities (UNPRPD) joint program to 5 additional countries through a grant to the UNPRPD fund. Utilizing funding from GAC’s $100 million care commitment, this project aims to assess and address deficiencies in the care and support systems for persons with disabilities in Colombia, Kenya, Mozambique, Panama, and Tanzania. The project ultimately aims to increase independent living opportunities for persons with disabilities, especially women while improving the well-being of paid and unpaid caregivers who provide support to them.

This project seeks to strengthen the Media Freedom Coalition (MFC) Secretariat’s ability to ensure the actions of MFC member countries on media freedom are not only coordinated, inclusive and effective, but that they are targeted and impactful for journalists and media actors in the countries they represent. The project will support the MFC leadership through clear processes and administration; support members to act by providing resources, ideas and connections; ensure information flow between stakeholders to promote coordination; organize key MFC activities such as events; communicate the MFC’s work to key audiences; and monitor and evaluate MFC activity.

This impact investment fund will help to improve the environment and well-being of vulnerable populations, especially women, in Africa, Asia and Latin America . It invests in small-scale financial institutions such as banks, microcredit, and micro-insurance companies in developing countries. Investments by the Aequitas Fund will help these financial institutions improve the availability of financial products, such as microcredit and micro-insurance, and services to underserved populations, including women, small and medium enterprises, youth, and smallholder farmers. The initiative will directly benefit 40,000 entrepreneurs (20,000 of them women) who will benefit from better, more inclusive financial products and services, and indirectly benefit up to 1.5 million clients of the recipient financial institutions.

It transports humanitarian workers, carries light cargo for humanitarian agencies and carries out emergency medical and security evacuations. This project operates in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Colombia, El Salvador, Global, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Pakistan and Venezuela.

With GAC’s support, WFP provides targeted food assistance to vulnerable populations to reduce acute malnutrition and food insecurity, and protect livelihoods. Project activities include: (1) distributing food and cash-based transfer; (2) providing supplementary feeding for children under the age of 5 years, as well as pregnant and lactating women; and (3) providing logistical support and enabling access to the most remote and challenging locations.

The objective of this AO is to support Canadian students to participate in national and international space conferences and training events that will offer them the opportunity to learn about and be involved in the latest developments in space science and technology, to develop their professional network, and in some cases, present their research results at the national and international level.
