Grants and Contributions
About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Develop Bio-pathway to produce organic acids and fortification salts using petroleum-based and bio-based organic acids.
1009226
Bartek is a global leader in manufacturing food additives to prolong food freshness and shelf life. This project will explore the possibilities of producing bio-based organic acids. Biobased and oil based organic acids (being used presently by Bartek) will then be converted to fortification salts as a cost-effective nutritional supplements/product. Bartek will explore and prototype production processes to produce fortification salts. Comparative testing will then be performed to select the most cost-effective fortification salts from either oil based or bio-based acids. Several methodologies will be selected using various fortification salts to fill the gap of “lack of nutrient salts”.

Improved volumetric concrete mixer to facilitate open source software / hardware by moving away from single source provider
1009279
Our Current volumetric mixer is heavily reliant on DANFOSS hardware and software. This causes us great difficulty in sourcing parts, spare parts and finding tech support around the world. Our tech support is currently based out of Georgetown Ontario via third party which is problematic for users in different time zones, potentially limiting our growth opportunities.

CMOS Back-end Development of TF-Transistor for Image Sensor
1009315
The rising demand for high-definition image-capturing devices in various industries has seen CMOS sensor technology witness a high adoption rate, providing high-quality images while delivering faster shutter speeds. The continuous improvements in image sensors is driving the need for new technologies such as die stacking and 3D interconnects. These new technologies are in turn driving the need for back-end-of-line thin film transistors such as those being developed by Zinite Corp.
