The grant supports the re-printing of the Louisbourg Institute of Cape Breton University’s bilingual (French and English) book called French Taste in Atlantic Canada – 1604-1758: A Gastronomic History. This publication explores how the first generations of French who settled in the region learned about, reacted to, and began to work with local Indigenous food knowledge and ingredients.

This grant will support Bearspaw First Nation to provide the opportunity and location for Elders’ oral and video histories that will be shared with Bar U Ranch Visitor Centre visitors as part of the Visitor Centre Rejuvenation Project.

This grant supports Haida language planning, language immersion and interactive workshops, community action and technology workshops for the 2024 Haida Language Gathering.

This contribution supports furthering knowledge of caribou genomics to inform woodland caribou recovery and the conservation breeding initiative in Jasper National Park. The project will use new techniques and additional biological samples to build on previous caribou genetics work to ensure that genetic diversity and inbreeding are key considerations in the steps taken to augment caribou through conservation breeding.

This grant supports the Manitoba Métis Federation in preparing the historic garden at Riel House National Historic Site. This project will foster education and engagement for visitors with historic Métis gardening practices, period appropriate plants and the distribution of the harvest to the Métis Nation

This grant enables Nunatsiavut Inuit beneficiaries to reconnect with their homeland and provide opportunities to understand how to make the Torngat Mountains National Park a living, vibrant Inuit homeland that is meaningful in the present and the future

This contribution supports the enhancing of an office space and visitor center within a multi-use building owned by the Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) in Resolute Bay. The renovations will allow QIA to attract tenants, comply with current standards and participate in economic and touristic development in the community.

The purpose of this project is to create a publicly available database of mineral characteristics and responses to various excitation sources to better predict which deposit types can be upgraded by sensor-based sorting.

The objective of this project is to enhance Indigenous participation in the natural resource economy, and support governance, and First Nation, government, and/or industry engagement.

This project is mostly about advancing reconciliation through Indigenous participation in the forest industy.
