The Justice Support Basket Fund is a 5-year multi-donor pooled fund led by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to which Canada contributes. The project contributes to the fight against impunity in Haiti by strengthening the capacities of institutions and players in the judicial system, and by ensuring better coordination with the Haitian National Police (PNH) for investigations, prosecutions and judgments. As a starting point, the project proposes to strengthen the independence and integrity of judges and government commissioners.

The project aims to scale-up climate and weather information services and climate-smart agriculture approaches to help farmers understand climate risks, anticipate, and manage extreme weather events, take advantage of favorable climate conditions, and adapt to climate change in the Nicaraguan Dry Corridor. The project focuses on making climate and weather information services more user-friendly and gender-sensitive to improve the ability of farmers, in particular women, to apply climate data. Project activities include: (1) designing climate information services that better reflect and service women’s needs in agriculture; (2) developing new modalities and dissemination channels to make climate data more accessible to women; (3) designing and mainstreaming bundles of best-fit climate-smart agriculture technologies and biodiversity conservation approaches across the farmlands of Nicaragua’s Dry Corridor; and (4) building capacity of rural women leaders on climate and biodiversity-focused advocacy and governance. Direct beneficiaries include at least 1,000 rural women smallholders from 18 farmer organizations in Nicaragua’s Dry Corridor. Over time, the project aims to deliver climate resilience impacts and indirectly benefit 30,000 farming families across 58 municipalities in Nicaragua.

Investing in Our Land, Restoration and Stream Enhancement in NCPEI’s Wildlife Management Area

The overarching goal (purpose) is to support enhancements in marine safety and marine environmental protection in Canadian waters, while embracing the concepts of co-development and sustainable economic development.

Support the acquisition, development, construction, improvement or repair as well as the management, maintenance, safety and accessibility of eligible fishing harbours.

The objectives of the Program are to; support the development and utilization of effective approaches to address social issues and challenges;.develop, exchange and apply knowledge, tools and resources that address social needs of individuals, families and communities; foster partnerships and networks to address existing and emerging social issues; recognize and support the ability of not-for-profit organizations to identify and address social development priorities; and, recognize and promote community engagement initiatives (e.g. volunteerism, corporate social responsibility, innovation, partnerships, coalitions) that mobilize community assets and develop capacities and resources for action..

The Domestic Stream of SERP funds research and events in order to increase collaboration and strengthen relationships with key partners and stakeholders to better understand current and emerging employment and social development issues of importance to Canadians. The research projects and events funded will increase the body of knowledge available to all Canadians, and, improve decision-making processes for Canadians and Canadian policy makers.

The objectives of the Program are: .• promoting volunteerism among seniors; .• engaging seniors in the community through.mentoring of others; .• expanding awareness of elder abuse, including.financial abuse; .• supporting social participation and inclusion of.seniors; and .• providing capital assistance for new and existing.community projects and/or programs for seniors. .
