The ICS Program is designed to foster community development by providing grants and awards to individuals and organizations for the purposes of:

• Enabling research and knowledge translation activities where the circumstances fall outside of CIHR's current suite of funding programs

The overarching objective of IYS-Net is to improve mental health services and outcomes for youth and their caregivers/families. This will be done by supporting pan-Canadian research, data and knowledge sharing across the IYS networks, thus enabling evidence-informed decision making that integrates research into practice and policy and strengthens each independent learning health system network.

The specific objectives of Phase 1 are to:
¿ Continue to build and strengthen research and knowledge mobilization capacity within and across IYS networks including among researchers, service providers, decision makers, and policy makers.
¿ Catalyze collaborations and knowledge sharing within and across IYS networks that will contribute evidence about best and wise practices regarding the development, implementation, policies, effectiveness, and ongoing monitoring of IYS in Canada, and using diverse research methods such as those based in Indigenous ways of knowing and engagement of youth and caregivers/families.
¿ Support the uptake of common data approaches and open science practices within and across IYS networks to support learning health system networks, and to identify best and wise practices for learning health systems in community-based settings.
¿ Facilitate effective and meaningful youth and caregiver/family engagement throughout all stages of the project ensuring youth and caregivers/families, as well as providers and policy makers, all play key roles.

• This prize was established to recognize the excellence of research in aging being conducted in Canada. This prize will be given annually to the top mid career investigator with the highest ranking project in the Spring 2023 Project Grant competition that are relevant to one of the Institute of Aging’s Strategic Directions.
o The CIHR Institute of Aging Strategic Plan 2019-2021: Living Longer, Living Better is based on two main strategic directions (a) the determinants of health and wellness along the life-long trajectory of aging, and (b) the complex health challenges of the older individual and their caregivers.
• This prize is a supplemental grant to support research, and must be used according to the Tri Agency Guide on Financial Administration. The prize is not a personal award and is non-renewable.
