Promoting women and girls’ effective participation in peace building, security and recovery in SNNPR

Enhancing the civic engagement of women and youth for peace and democratization in Ethiopia.

This project will focus on revitalizing our brand and packaging to reflect Hummingbird’s position as one of the world’s best chocolate makers.

To this end, Hummingbird requires assistance and the expertise of a creative partner that will help us to craft an international brand.

Making visible the LGBTIQ+ population in Honduras through audiovisual material and a meeting with the Diplomatic Corp in preparation of the Universal Periodic Review process for Honduras.

The project aims to improve the capacity of peacekeepers through large-scale e-learning programs. These self-paced e-learning courses are delivered at regional and national peacekeeping training centers prior to deployment, during deployment, and directly to individual peacekeepers. Project activities build on the previous Canada-funded projects and include: (1) designing and delivering e-learning peacekeeping courses to national and regional peacekeeping training centers throughout Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean and South Asia; (2) delivering specific online training on gender equality, and the role of women in conflict resolution; (3) translating six courses into French and three into Spanish or Arabic; (4) developing two new e-publications and updating the mobile application; and (5) providing the full peacekeeping training curriculum online, including instructions on human rights and international conflict resolution to military personnel, police, and civilians serving in all peacekeeping missions.

This project supports decision-makers within Track One negotiations with the goal of sustainable political peace settlements to reduce and end violent conflict. Inter-Mediate works to provide expert advice to senior leadership involved in peace processes on how to: (1) structure and manage difficult negotiations involving state and non-state armed groups; (2) balance multiple interests to establish the parameters of possible agreement; and (3) provide guarantees for the most vulnerable and excluded groups.

The project works to assist with the design, operations and transition planning for UN peace operations, the development of UN regional strategies, appeals and joint programmes. This work also aims to operationalize commitments in the joint UN/World Bank “Pathways for Peace” report, the “Sustaining Peace” resolutions and the “Action for Peacekeeping” agenda leading to more preventive, coherent, data-driven, efficient and effective – and gender-sensitive – UN system results in fragile and conflict affected states.

Project activities will include: creation of a peaceful and comforting space in Conne River, the Chantel John Memorial Park, a legacy and a reminder of all the women and girls that have gone missing and murdered over the years.

This 20-month project will honour the lives and legacies of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and LGBTQ2S individuals and increase awareness about missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls and LGBTQ2S individuals. Project activities will include: working in collaboration with families to create a memorial monument, developing a website to archive individual stories, coordinating a welcome home ceremony, and developing and implementing an engagement and communication strategy to involve and educate the broader public on issues related to missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and LGBTQ2S individuals.
