In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

This project will enhance community-based policing and improve the working relationship between Pikangikum First Nation and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). The Community Safety Officers (CSOs) will enhance community safety and address low-risk responses to community concerns, including incidents stemming from social issues such as addictions and mental health. The CSOs act as liaisons between local community members and the OPP to ensure police response considers cultural considerations and language barriers.

This project supports the retrofitting of a training facility, and purchase of additional training equipment to support training by Rama Police Service, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), and other police services to enhance officer capacity, and support recruitment and training efforts. Once completed, this would enable Rama Police Service to host training for annual requalification, regular use of force training, provide rapid response, de-escalation, and other scenario-based training simulators, recruit testing, and youth fitness interaction.

Objectives include defining the processing temperature domain of
ID-HVOF in terms of the fatigue behaviour of the coating/substrate
assemblies and in-service behaviour. A further objective is to benchmark
WC-Co-Cr with alternative sustainable and lighter carbides for wear and
corrosion performance. Expected outcomes of this Project are a new high
value-added coating technology for deep bore parts and difficult to reach
surfaces that will benefit Canadian companies produce better performing
components. Beneficiaries include material suppliers, equipment providers,
coating applicators and original equipment manufacturers.
