Community facility: The project aims to build a community center in Saint-Alphonse-de-Granby to promote the development of this community so that it can recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

June 6, 2023 - Explosions at the Kakhovka dam destroyed the hydroelectric structure and caused large-scale flooding along the lower Dnipro River due to the water release from the Kakhovka reservoir. This has left 40,000 people affected by flooding requiring essential sanitation and hygiene services, and lack of access to water by 700,000 people dependent on the Kakhovka reservoir .

UNICEF has launched emergency response activities in Khersonska, Mykolaivska, and Dnipropetrovska oblasts in flood-affected and frontline areas for a year. With GAC’s support, UNICEF will reach 500,000 people affected by the destruction of the Kakhovka dam. Project activities include: (1) providing emergency water trucking; (2) providing water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) supplies such as bottled water, hygiene kits, water tanks and water purification consumables; (3) conducting small-scale, emergency rehabilitation of WASH infrastructure; (4) providing child protection services; and (5) providing mental health and psychosocial support services.

Engaging municipalities to protect and conserve local greenspaces

The objective of the SSLP is to help all learners improve their educational outcomes throughout their life so that they can get the skills they need to succeed in the labour market by supporting learners, providing supports and building approaches that address issues related to learning and skills.

The funding supports projects that aim to recruit, retain and help both women apprentices succeed in at least 1 of the 39 eligible Red Seal trades by:.1. creating partnerships with women’s groups, community colleges, unions or employers to recruit women.2. organizing women-led events as an outreach tool to help attract women to the trades industry.3. offering mentorship by female role models, women-in-the-skilled-trades networks, and opportunities to share success stories.4. creating a welcoming space where women can feel comfortable and safe in the training and work sites.

The objectives for CSC are to create, promote and facilitate access to service opportunities that are meaningful to young Canadian, and support lasting civic engagement, as well as to provide youth with life and work skills.

SPF’s objective will be achieved by functioning as an innovative, partnership-driven complement to the Indigenous Skills and Employment Training Strategy (ISETS) that fosters more integrated, harmonized, training-to-employment models or acts as a catalyst for the formation and testing of innovative new partnerships in Indigenous labour market development. SPF activities will emphasize joint stewardship and coordination consistent with the Aboriginal Economic Development Framework. Through access to SPF funding, a wider range of Indigenous organizations will deliver Indigenous labour market programming, serving to embed collaboration and maximize leveraging opportunities with industry, federal-provincial-territorial partners, and Indigenous partners

Contribution as part of the Indigenous Capacity Support Program to Webequie First Nation to assist in improving assessments, policy engagement, assessment monitoring and follow-up activities.
