This project supports the firm in its efforts to secure a contract that meets the requirements of the defence industry. The design and manufacture of test benches for military aerospace engines requires the firm to adapt to NATO standards and governance practices; to validate its roadmap for obtaining certifications; and to adapt its technical product.

This project aims to advance the Sparrowhawk Radar system by enhancing its security features and streamlining its deployment process, making it suitable for dual-use applications in both commercial and defence sectors. The Sparrowhawk Radar is currently commercially available and can be deployed as a single installation or part of a network of installations to reduce blind spots and increase confidence in airspace monitoring. As interest from Canadian defence customers grows, establishing a secure and efficient network of Sparrowhawk systems has become paramount.

Commercialization study to assess the capability to engineer, manufacture, and deploy dual-use strike and counter-strike drones for defence and civil applications.

The Project aims to develop scalable nickel-rich, cobalt-free cathode materials and high-entropy solid-state electrolytes with enhanced energy density, safety, and reduced cost for electric vehicles and wearable electronics. The University of Ottawa and the NRC will collaborate to accelerate material optimization and industrial readiness through integrated synthesis, advanced characterization, and device validation. The NRC will scale up cathode production using continuous stirred-tank reactors to ensure controlled morphology and composition. The University of Ottawa will apply in situ and operando techniques to monitor structural and interfacial evolution and prototype low-carbon thin-film solid-state batteries. Moisture and oxygen permeation testing (WVTR/OTR) will validate encapsulation strategies under environmental and mechanical stress. This collaboration will advance technology readiness and enable manufacturable, high-performance battery prototypes for Canada’s clean energy sector.

This project aims to (1) Perform an opportunity analysis for Massload’s Defence Industry engagement and (2) Explore Massload’s readiness alignment with Canada’s Defence supply chain requirements.

The Circle to Strength project will equip justice professionals with a referral-based toolbox for youth from the Mi’kmaw communities that are in conflict with the law and will support the development of a referral system, a gaps analysis, new program development and evaluation.

This project will analyze youth sentencing options to assess effectiveness and improve options, assess the relationship between youth in care and incarceration, develop recommendations for program and partners, and develop a resource team for Indigenous youth justice with service partners.

This project will support the research and development of traditional justice knowledge and tools for Kwanlin Dun First Nation. The research will be carried out in partnership with the University of Victoria and the findings will inform justice program models, governance models and administration of justice negotiations for Kwanlin Dun First Nation.

The purpose of this land-based program is to support the healing, and reintegration of Taku River Tlingit citizens who are returning from being in custody, from treatment for addiction, and/or those who are struggling with intergenerational trauma by participating in this program in the summer of 2026.

This contribution supports the processing, analysis and interpretation of trail camera data and will enable a better understanding of caribou presence, seasonal habitat use, group composition, and behaviour in Wapusk National Park.
