To encourage scientific research and related scientific activities (e.g. data collection, integration, monitoring, and communication, including communication via conferences and symposia) and dissemination of scientific knowledge in the areas of: (a) Fisheries and Aquaculture Science; (b) Ecosystem Science; (c) Oceanography and Modelling; and (d) Freshwater Science.

The purpose of the Oceans Management Contribution funding is to support the development and implementation of oceans conservation and management activities in Canada.

October 2023 - On April 15, 2023, armed clashes broke out between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, leading to mass displacement within and outside of Sudan, as well as significant protection violations and a lack of access to basic food, water, health, nutrition and other services for vulnerable people. The clashes have increased humanitarian needs within Sudan and its neighbouring countries, many of which had been experiencing protected crises prior to the outbreak of this conflict.

With the support of GAC and other donors, WFP provides targeted food assistance to vulnerable populations to reduce acute malnutrition and food insecurity, and protect livelihoods. Project activities include: (1) distributing food and cash-based transfers; (2) providing supplementary feeding for children under the age of five years, and pregnant and lactating people; and (3) providing logistical support and enabling access to the most remote and challenging locations.

The purpose of the Canadian International Innovation Program (CIIP) contribution agreement is to support Canadian SMEs identify international partners in CIIP target countries for industrial research and development collaboration that has good potential for commercialization.

The Hiawatha Highlands & Conservation Area Connector Trail led by Tourism Sault Ste. Marie will provide a critical link connecting residents and visitors from downtown Sault Ste. Marie, by way of off-road path to Hiawatha Highlands Conservation area, Wishart and Kinsmen Parks. Project activities include a 5 km green space active transportation corridor and a 90 feet long recreation bridge. The establishment of the greenway created by the Connector Trail will create a community asset for both recreation and non-motorized users (cyclists, runners, walkers, snowshoers, Nordic skiers, etc.) of all abilities and ages.

New cultural building in Fort McPherson, North Territories to act as a gathering area for sharing knowledge and offers a much needed space for elders, youth, and all community members to increase land-based knowledge, share cultural history, and ensure that the community understands and is prepared for how climate change, and other global challenges, will impact the local community.

New Indigenous health and social facility in Aroland First Nation, ON to include 20 private suites and provide several shared facilities including a kitchen, dining area, lounge, craft area, and fitness room, ensure access to social and health supports and services while maintaining connections to traditions, values, and beliefs.
