Through this 29-month project, Voice Found, in partnership with The Canadian Centre to End Human Trafficking (The Centre), will develop and put in place a promising practice building upon Voice Found's existing training. It will be enhanced and piloted to add and assess the addition of an ethical peer support training program for survivors of human trafficking. The Ethical Peer Support project aims to address anti-human trafficking peer supporters' current lack of access to training and resources using trauma-informed practice. To do so, Voice Found will complete a literature review, an environmental scan, and develop a theory of change and evaluative framework. The project will be piloted on a pan-Canadian scale in locations with high interest in peer-support work but limited resources in addition to virtual training using both synchronous and asynchronous learning.

An external evaluator will work with the Canadian Centre to End Human Trafficking and Voice Found to measure and assess the program impact. Outcomes of the evaluation and a model of ethical peer-support training will be widely disseminated so that other organizations and survivor leaders may replicate or expand upon it. This information will also be shared with Women and Gender Equality Canada GBV Knowledge Centre.

This supplemental funding will enhance Voice Found’s peer support program for survivors of human trafficking by improving digital learning infrastructure, expanding and leadership training, refining evaluation tools, and translating materials to support national and bilingual delivery to strengthen program accessibility, sustainability, and impact across Canada.

Through this 29-month project, Voulez-Vous Productions will strengthen the capacity and networks of 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations to promote equality for 2SLGBTQI+ people. It will address inclusion, accessibility, and representation for queer and gender nonconforming women artists within the Quebec and Canadian cultural landscapes. The project will include developing and consolidating anti-oppressive human resources management policies; developing partnerships; organizing a conference on issues relating to inclusivity, access, and representation; and creating a pool of diversity, equity, and inclusion consultants for issues of inclusion, accessibility, and representation for queer and gender nonconforming women artists.

Through this 17-month project, Centre33 will build stronger capacity of 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGBTQI+ equality by attaining not-for-profit incorporation. It will address a lack of formalized local supports and advocacy for the 2SLGBTQI+ community and its constituent members. The project will include establishing a Board of Directors, applying for and achieving not-for-profit incorporation status, engaging with the with diverse 2SLGBTQI+ communities to learn about challenges and barriers faced by them, and developing and disseminating a learning tool.

Through this 29-month project, Espace LGBTQ+ will strengthen the capacity and networks of 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations to advance 2SLGBTQI+ equality. The project will focus on defining the organization’s strategic vision for the next years, inclusion for marginalized LGBTQ+ communities, and optimizing the organization’s communication tools and financial resources. The project will include developing a strategic plan, a communications strategy, and a philanthropic strategy to better meet the needs expressed by Espace LGBTQ+ member organizations while fostering connections, sharing, and dialogue among these organizations.

Establish an Indigenous manufacturing and construction cluster

NAIT Centre for Culinary Innovation (CCI) will provide product development services to SMEs in Western Canada with focus not only on flavour and safety but also on the optimization of by product streams and the use of locally grown ingredients. CCI is striving to fill the gap in value-added utilization of Canadian commodities by innovating and creating a circular, sustainable economy for Alberta and Canada as a whole.
The three major pillars that CCI has expertise in are: fermentation, waste and by product utilization and sensory analysis as it pertains to food product development.

Fondation Émergence will host a National Conversion Therapy Symposium in February 2024. In partnership with Éducaloi and Justice Probono, the project will bring together the following first-line support workers: healthcare and social services, school boards, police services and legal circles for victims of conversion therapy. Fondation Émergence seeks to improve their intervention capacities, encourage the establishment of a support network between these workers, and raise awareness of the services offered to victims of conversion therapy.

Commercialization strategy: The project aims to commercialize a solution for improving the efficiency of industrial electric motors.

Canada's Fisheries Fund will transform and drive innovation in the fish and seafood sector in Canada with a focus on developing the sector to better meet growing market demands for sustainably sourced, high-quality fish and seafood products.
