The Project is aimed at the development of process models and high-quality
datasets for life cycle and cost assessment of CO2 conversion technologies
and scalable H2 production solutions. Following a data quality check, the
developed datasets will be integrated to the NRC’s data hub and made
available to researchers through open access. The Project will initially focus
on building high quality life cycle inventory (LCI) and life cycle cost inventory
(LCCI) datasets for mature technologies including captured CO2 conversion
to e-fuels (CCTeF) and direct air carbon to e-fuels (DACeF) and later focus
on early-stage CO2 and H2 technologies. A benchmarking framework will be
also developed and implemented to enable a fair comparison of early stage
and mature technologies. The LCA/TEA Project team will assess current and
forecast future performance using end-to-end process modeling considering
operating conditions close to “real-world” operations. Insights on promising
CO2/H2 technologies and other carbon mitigation solutions will be provided.

This project will advance the development of an automated control system for hyperspectral satellite optical telescope payloads. Existing technology will be matured to TRL6 and enable future hyperspectral imaging satellite payloads developed by Wyvern. In addition to technology development the project will support the retention and training of highly qualified personnel and advance the capability and capacity of the Canadian space industry.

To provide a report of the type and style of raw materials and used materials that can be recycled from going the landfill to be used to treat wastewater in a passive wastewater treatment system. The object is to find materials that can work together to chemically treat by ion exchange and/or absorption the parameters like nitrogen and phosphorus that can harm the environment when released to it. The goal is to do this with recycled materials and using no or very little energy, except that which can be provided by wind or sun. The idea is to look at designing a system that has the minimalist carbon foot print while still achieving our treatment productivity.

The inaugural phase of the Crab Transfer Robotic Arm Software Development project earmarks a critical juncture where technology meets innovation to revolutionize the crab processing industry. Encompassing approximately 1800 person hours, this phase is chiefly dedicated to meticulously defining the cutting-edge robotic technology that can be seamlessly programmed to meet our specific needs, consequently ushering in a new era of efficiency and precision in the crab processing pipeline.

The focal point of this phase is the strategic positioning of a robotic arm, bridging the gap between two pivotal machines: the crab cleaning machine and the crab processing machine.

The firm began its first ocean alkalinity enhancement (OAE) trial at Nova Scotia Power Inc (NSPI) in September 2023. Beginning in October, the proprietary OAE process will begin to generate a net carbon dioxide removal, which accounts for the GHG created to acquire the alkalinity and run the project. This 12 weeks project will include research around confirming the life cycle analysis of the Halifax project to quantify our GHG impact, completing multiple weeks of OAE carbon removal and validating that the carbon was removed by analyzing the data from our MOdular DOsing and Monitoring (MODOM) system.
