Through this 17-month project, Qchat Support Association will build the capacity of 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGBTQI+ equality. It will collect, review, and analyze new and existing information on British Columbia’s 2SLGBTQI+ youth peer support and referral landscape to better understand the gaps, barriers, and best practices in serving 2SLGBTQI+ youth in British Columbia. The project will include expanding capacity of Qchat Support Association through more robust volunteer training and education, and board development including governance and long-term financial sustainability, not-for-profit finance management and grant proposal writing.

Supplemental funds will be used to support the human resources for this project.

Through this 39-month project, Momentum will build stronger capacity of 2SLGBTQIA+ community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGBTQIA+ equality.

Through this 27-month project, Fierté littéraire will strengthen the capacity and the networks of 2SLGBTQI+ communities to promote equality of the 2SLGBTQ+ people. The project will cover organizational development, strategic planning, partnership development, and structural funding. It will also include evaluating and training the board of directors, drafting and updating policies, developing the organization’s image, as well as communications activities with members and partners.

Through this 39-month project, the Rainbow Coalition for Refuge and its Coalition Secretariat will strengthen and build the capacity of 2SLGBTQI+community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGBTQI+ rights.

More precisely, they will address the specific and unique needs and intersections of 2SLGBTQI+ newcomers and those with lived experience in Canada.

The project will include activities to build equity and anti-racism competencies of 2SLGBTQI+ refugee-serving organizations across Canada and strengthen the internal structures of the Coalition and its secretariat. Activities will be conducted through an equity lens, focusing on building the leadership of those with direct lived experience of migration or forced migration in the Coalition and its member organizations

With the Supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, Rainbow Refugee Society, on behalf of From Borders to Belonging (FB2B), will develop a standardized national intake framework and data governance protocol, establish referral guidelines and accountability mechanisms across member organizations, and pilot a shared internal coordination system and provide national training. Rainbow Refugee Society will also conduct a governance capacity assessment, facilitate governance alignment workshops with the Coalition Steering Committee, and develop a governance improvement roadmap and implementation plan. Finally, Rainbow Refugee Society will develop a three-year financial sustainability and diversification strategy and produce a fund development toolkit and coordinated prospecting plan to strengthen collaborative fundraising capacity across coalition members. Through this next phase of implementation, FB2B will further advance gender equality by institutionalizing equity-centered coordination systems, strengthening collaborative governance and accountability structures, and building long-term financial resilience across its national network of 2SLGBTQI+ refugee-serving organizations.

Through this 27-month project, the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity will improve capacity of 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGBTQI+ equality. The project will address gaps in 2SLGBTQ+ youth leaders' access to convening space and knowledge and skills development mentorship and empowerment opportunities, to inform policy related to adequate trans affirming health care, comprehensive sexuality education, and public safety. The project will focus on strategic, operational, and financial planning; strengthening organizational capacity through hiring specialist positions and consultants; fostering networking and collaboration between organizations serving 2SLGBTQ+ youth; and raising awareness of 2SLBTQ+ youth issues through needs assessment made accessible to other organizations in and outside of the 2SLGBTQ+ sector.

Through this 26-month project, Southern Chiefs’ Organization Inc. (SCO), in partnership with GAGANNAAWENIMAANAANIG (formerly the Manitoba MMIWG2S+ Implementation Committee) will increase action to advance equality through systemic change and focus on efforts to end violence against Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people in Manitoba.

The project will focus on identifying immediate priorities from the final report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG2S+), with an emphasis on the landscape in Manitoba. SCO will then support an advisory group to guide the project, and partner with the Women’s Research Institute to create a process evaluation framework and seek out further partnerships. The organization will engage with women and girls with lived experience to develop solutions to systemic barriers and extend consultation sessions with governments, and other community members to identify gaps in services.

The additional time will support SCO to mitigate issues presented to the organization, gather knowledge that builds on the guidance of the National Action Plan, and allow the completion of the development of a public awareness campaign and communication strategy to introduce the new initiative. Finally, SCO will conduct a year-end evaluation report, as planned, and host a gathering, education awareness for MMIWG2S+ to share the findings of the implementation plan with community members and families affected by violence, to understand barriers for women and put in place solutions to influence change.
