The proposed project will lead to the development of six school travel plans (STPs) for the Hauts-Bois School Service Centre. The schools involved are École secondaire Sieur-de-Coulonge (Mansfield) and five elementary schools: Poupore (Fort-Coulonge), L’Envolée (Campbell’s Bay), Notre-Dame du Sacré-Coeur (Chapeau), Sainte-Anne (Grand Calumet Island) and Sainte-Marie (Otter Lake). Three appendices are attached to this funding application: a work plan, a recent sample STP, and a file outlining MOBI-O’s approach and expertise for the proposed planning project. Note: The work plan is spread over an eight-month period, but not all STPs will be completed at the same time; they will be staged over a total of two years.

The Municipality of Chelsea wants to hire MOBI-O, the Centre de gestion des déplacements de l’Outaouais, to develop a local transportation plan (LTP) for the area around Scott Street. The project will develop active transportation by improving, modifying or adding infrastructure and equipment for the safety, continuity and promotion of active transportation through various possible recommendations: adding signage, modifying vehicular and shared infrastructure, introducing measures to reduce speeding and by-law non-compliance, etc.

"The “À l'école à pied ou à vélo, Je suis capable !” campaign promotes active transportation for elementary school students aged 5 to 12. The campaign encourages active travel (walking, biking, scootering, etc.) for elementary school students commuting to and from school through education, awareness and promotional activities.

Campaign goals:
1. Support the deployment a campaign with proven benefits for active transportation safety and healthy lifestyles for elementary school students
2. Demonstrate a commitment to the community, especially to the younger generation, and promote the values of sustainable development, safety and healthy lifestyles
3. Increase active transportation’s modal share for elementary school students"

The STPs will have three secondary objectives:
- Identify measures needed to make walking and biking to school safer
- Suggest ways to maintain and encourage the use of active transportation by students
- Initiate a concerted effort to encourage the deployment of facilities and measures that enhance the safety of students commuting to school"

To address safety and accessibility concerns, the Municipality of Cantley wants to develop a local transportation plan (LTP). The project will develop active transportation by improving, modifying or adding infrastructure and facilities for safety, accessibility and the promotion of active transportation through various possible recommendations: adding signage, modifying vehicular and shared infrastructures, adding measures to reduce speeding and by-law non-compliance, etc. Throughout the project, Cantley’s residents will be engaged and educated to promote active transportation development and find suitable, concrete solutions for the community.

A year-round campaign to promote cycling in Gatineau, with two objectives: encourage recreational cyclists to use bicycles as a means of transportation (utilitarian cycling) and educate non-cyclists about the benefits of cycling to encourage them to use bicycles for transportation.

The proposed project will lead to the preparation of two documents: a methodology for developing school transportation plans (STPs) for secondary schools, and an STP for a specific secondary school in Gatineau. The methodology can then be used to develop a new STP for any high school. An STP is a public document that provides recommendations to the City and schools for corrective action to improve the safety and convenience of active transportation to and from school and to promote active transportation. This planning project will involve many stakeholders (school principals, school service centres, municipal departments, parent committees, elected officials) in creating or promoting dialogue on active transportation issues.

The project will support development of intellectual property capacity within the firm.

The tool will include advanced algorithms and technological advancements that will provide a new and continuous feed of information and intelligence that is necessary to achieve total quality and compliance of cold chain activities with health Canada requirements.

The purpose of this contribution is to provide funding for the purchase and installation of security cameras, security film, anti-graffiti paint, access control system, exterior lights, fencing, renovation of the main entrance alarm system, fire alarm system and training on how to use the new training on how to use the new security equipment.
