This project consists of offering judicial information workshops, particularly on legal instruments integrating gender, to underrepresented members of an official language minority community, in order to develop their knowledge of judicial matters and increase their access to justice. These workshops will be facilitated by subject matter experts who will convey complex information in an accessible manner, for the benefit of project participants.

Provide financial assistance to an individual victim or support person (as defined in the Corrections and Conditional Release Act and who are registered with Correctional Service Canada or the Parole Board of Canada), to attend Parole Board of Canada hearings in respect of the offender who harmed them. A total of 36 individuals received financial assistance in this regard.

Provide financial assistance to an individual Canadian victim of a specified serious violent crime in a foreign jurisdiction for emergency situations of undue hardship where no other source of financial assistance is available (specified categories of crimes are homicide, sexual assault, aggravated assault or assault with serious personal violence, or threat of serious violence, including against a child) or to an individual support person to accompany, attend with or support a Canadian victimized in a foreign jurisdiction. A total of 21 individuals received financial assistance in this regard.

As part of the international consortium project Eureka Xecs Cluster: SAFETRUCKS, this project is concerned with the severity of accidents involving heavy truck vehicles, especially multi-unit heavy vehicles. Heavy truck vehicles can cause catastrophic outcomes in the event of an accident where human casualties, operational losses, and infrastructure damage are of major impact on individuals, governments, and businesses. In Canada and Finland, heavy vehicle accidents usually happen due to lack of sufficient information on road geometry, road surface, weather state, tire dynamics, and vehicle dynamics.
