About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

This 8-month project will enable Les 3 sex to develop community-informed solutions to key barriers and gaps faced by LGBTQ2 communities. The measures that will be taken to achieve this will consist of creating an advisory committee with community partners, producing and producing video animation capsules representing the issues surrounding immigrants, Indigenous and/or disabled youth in 2SLGBTQ+ communities, and developing various recommendations and resources to raise awareness of the systemic discrimination faced by these youths.
By the end of the project, the organization will have strengthened its capacity to overcome issues faced by 2SLGBTQI+ communities, particularly immigrants, Indigenous and/or disabled youth, and to reduce discrimination against people who are at the intersection of multiple identities.

Human Resources for SRHR and Gender-Based Violence in South Sudan

This project aims to support the health and rights of women and girls in South Sudan by increasing the availability of skilled healthcare providers, improving attitudes toward sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and the fighting against gender-based violence (GBV). The project will also support South Sudan’s government in developing and implementing SRHR and GBV policies.
Project activities include: (1) equipping targeted health facilities and deploying qualified healthcare workers; (2) sensitizing communities about the availability of SRHR, GBV, and HIV services and mobilizing these communities to prevent and respond to GBV; (3) training healthcare professionals and providing support to health training institutions; and (4) supporting the relevant government ministries to develop and enact gender-responsive SRHR, GBV, and HIV laws and policies.
This project expects to support 10 health institutes which will train up to 5,000 healthcare workers, provide services and support to up to 7,000 survivors of GBV, and reach up to 500,000 people with positive messaging on SRHR and the fight against GBV.
