The essence of this project is to undertake engineering, design, installation and commissioning of innovative new equipment and lean processes, which will lead to an expansion in annual honey production throughput while reducing cost of goods and increasing revenue potential.

International Co-innovation Action Program (ICAP) project. The aim of this project is to enable the firm to find one or more co-innovation partners producing primary aluminum, as well as a second partner who will support it in identifying the technological adaptations needed to deploy its aluminum residue management technology in one of the target European territories.

With the rapid emergence of new scientific discoveries and technical advancements comes promising opportunities to translate this knowledge into new product innovations. As we continue to grow our operational infrastructure and expand our analytical service offerings in the areas of QA, R&D, and bioanalytics, it is crucial that we establish a robust testing platform to support these extended services. Through thoughtful development and optimization, a fully developed testing and analytics program will allow us to provide a comprehensive suite of QA and R&D services to our clients effectively reducing the time it takes to bring their state-of-the-art products and innovations to the Canadian market.

Build a desktop version of the firm’s current Smartphone App with Python instead of Android. It will use a server-based database of images and implement 3 image processing algorithms.

Development, integration, and the laboratory testing of a robotic drawer harvesting unit that will validate automatic picking, sorting, and placement of fresh mushrooms. This will be accomplished through the seamless integration of the Mycionics robotic harvesting unit and the drawer harvesting platform from the Christiaens Group. Both companies intend on reducing the overall cost of mushroom harvesting, while increasing efficiency and productivity.

The project is to research and develop a Digital Twin system for communications towers. The project will employ machine learning and object detection, 3d point cloud visualization and feature detection, and integrated asset management data such as tower configurations.

This project will serve to research, incubate, and then launch a comprehensive database of over the counter supplement safety information, pertaining to two specific parameters: side effects from the supplement, as well as interactions that the supplement has with other supplements, foods, and medications.

The purpose of this project is to provide employment to a recent graduate in the role of a Junior Data Scientist at a personalize digital health intelligence firm.

Acrolab Ltd is a heatpipe manufacturer. There has been an increasing demand for high temperature heatpipes for several industrial applications from transportation/automotive to the energy sector. Standard water charged heatpipes operate at temperatures up to 250C with high temperature heatpipes operating in the range of 600C-800C. In order to manufacture heatpipes that can operate at these temperatures a significant work is required to identify, analyze and experiment with several materials to determine their suitability and compatibility for use in different operational environments. The work undertaken for this project will improve Acrolab's technical expertise, improve productivity as well as develop a new product for the company.

The project will support development of intellectual property capacity within the firm.
