Over the next five years, this project will provide a coordinated response to children and youth who are victims of abuse to reduce the trauma experienced by service systems. The project will increase the capacity of the multidisciplinary partners to undertake investigations and provide effective, seamless coordinated services for child and youth victims and their families.

The funding supports a range of measures, such as hiring of bilingual provincial court staff, language training, signage, etc., deemed necessary to ensure that Newfoundland and Labrador can guarantee access to justice services related to federal contraventions in both official languages on behalf of the federal government.

The objective of the Indigenous Courtwork Program is to facilitate and enhance access to justice by assisting Indigenous Persons (adults and youth) charged with an offence under any federal or provincial statute, municipal by-law, or otherwise involved in the criminal justice system to obtain fair, just, equitable and culturally relevant treatment. These services include information on charges, court procedures, rights and responsibilities, bail, diversion, restorative justice and Indigenous community justice alternatives; support in accessing legal resources as well as appropriate community programming including wellness, trauma, housing, family and employment services; and, facilitating communication among court officials, accused persons, family members and communities to ensure understanding and collaboration.

This initiative proposes the creation of a new pilot service for the calculation of a child support which aims to reduce cost and stress to assist parents by determining the amount of child support administratively.

This project provides support to Éducaloi to undertake activities to improve their services to English-speaking Quebecers (including serving vulnerable and hard-to-reach clienteles).

This project will expand the province's existing model of Family Guide Domestic Violence Specialists to a regional level. The project will conduct a review and analysis of existing resources in regional, remote, and northern Manitoba, while exploring opportunities to integrate Protection Order Designates programming and training. In the final two years, the project will implement pilot projects to test models to provide services at a regional level.

Over the next five years, this project will deliver ongoing service delivery to children, youth and families in the North Okanagan region of British Columbia. The organization will ensure the continuation of service and delivery of the multi-disciplinary team response when children and youth have experienced abuse or violence through having adequate staffing levels in place. This project includes development and strengthening of the BC Network of Child and Youth Advocacy Centres (CYACs).
