Through this 52-month project, Edmonton 2 Spirit Society will increase its ability to prevent or address gender-based violence against Indigenous women, girls, or 2SLGBTQQIA+ people with a focus on their local community. This will be achieved by reviewing the existing governance structure to improve their governance practices and building new partnerships to expand their networks in consort with strengthening their existing alliances.

The project will develop Elder, Matriarch and Youth Councils to engage their communities through knowledge transfers, sharing lived experiences, land-based learning, and healing practices.

Through this 34-month project, Carrier Sekani Family Services Society will increase its ability to prevent and address gender-based violence (GBV) against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people with a focus on individuals leaving domestic violence in Northern British Columbia. This will be achieved by completing an organizational review of programming; an environmental scan of Indigenous specific programs nationally; setting up a steering committee and focus groups with various Nations along Highway 16; engaging a university partner in research, results analysis, and model design; and sharing project results, including a train the trainer capacity building model, with communities along Highway 16.

This project will engage Saikuz, Nadleh, Sllako, Lake Baine Nation and Wetsuweten Nations, to provide participants for the focus groups. The organization will also engage with a university partner who will help Carrier Sekani Family Services Society with research, results analysis and recommendations for the train the trainer model.

By the end of the project, Carrier Sekani Family Services Society will have strengthened their capacity to prevent and address GBV against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people, with a focus on individuals leaving domestic violence in Northern British Columbia.

Through this 51-month project, Fraser Region Aboriginal Friendship Centre Association (FRAFCA) will increase its ability to prevent and address gender-based violence (GBV) against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people, with a focus on Indigenous people living on a low income and/or with disabilities in the Fraser region.

Through this 34-month project, Lillooet Friendship Centre Society (LFCS) will increase its ability to prevent and address gender-based violence against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people with a focus on Indigenous people living on a low income and/or with disabilities in the Lillooet area. This will be achieved by conducting internal and external needs assessments to determine gaps in GBV services and programming, creating a strategic plan that supports the LFCS’s ability to prevent and address GBV, conducting staff and board training to increase organizational knowledge of GBV, and developing an organizational action plan for the staff and board that will enhance LFCS’s ability to address GBV. LFCS will also update their HR manual with learnings from the assessments, develop partnerships to prevent and address GBV, analyze and implement new policies to help prevent and address GBV in the community, and create an advocacy plan for victims and survivors of GBV.

By the end of the project, LFCS will have strengthened their capacity to prevent and address GBV against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people, with a focus on Indigenous people living on a low income and/or with disabilities in the Lillooet area.

Through this 52-month project, Urban Native Youth Association will increase its ability to prevent and address gender-based violence (GBV) against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people, with a focus on urban Indigenous youth in Vancouver. This will be achieved by: onboarding a Fund Development Manager to secure stable funding sources in support of UNYA's 20+ youth programs (many focused on prevention, early intervention and crisis support for youth vulnerable to and experiencing GBV); developing and implementing a funding sustainability plan; delivering a donor engagement and marketing strategy; staff training to enhance staff ability to serve impacted youth, and the development of UNYA's Youth Advisory Committee.

By the end of the project, Urban Native Youth Association will have strengthened their capacity to prevent and address GBV against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people in their existing programs by strengthening organizational capacity to better deliver UNYA’s Philosophy of Care to their 20+ programs and empower the voices of impacted youth through the Youth Advisory Committee to steer future programming.

This 10-month project will address the rise of hate towards the 2SLGBTQIA+ community by supporting the Pride events teams and organizers across the country.

Business start-up: The project aims to start up a company specialized in the design and manufacture of sanitary ceramics for bathroom.

Commercialization strategy: The project aims at commercializing an innovative platform of a company which specialized in geographic information systems (GIS) and web mapping.

Digital equipment acquisitions: The project aims to increase the productivity and production capacity of the company, which specializes in the manufacture of agricultural and forestry equipment.

Capital costs: The project aims to commemorate the tragic events in Lac-Mégantic on July 6, 2013 (10 years).
