Contributes to the recovery of endangered, threatened, and other species of concern, by engaging Canadians in conservation actions to benefit wildlife and to protect aquatic species at risk.

This funding application is intended to address a planned but unfunded segment of protected bike lane that will extend a fully funded segment of protected bike lane to be constructed as part of an upcoming road renewal project. River and Stradbrook Avenues are an east/west one-way couplet in the Osborne Village neighbourhood of Winnipeg, Manitoba. The design of the bike lanes involves the reallocation of road space from motor vehicles to bikes and people through the construction of new separated, protected bike lanes. The protected bike lanes will be uni-directional, following the flow of traffic and functioning together as a couplet.
The protected bike lanes are approximately 2.5 kilometers in their entirety. Approximately one kilometer of this length will be funded and included in an existing road renewal project and the remaining section would be funded through this application and already secured match funding.

This project includes the creation of a community-approved active transportation plan, comprehensive design documents for the construction of walking and biking trails, and a phased implementation strategy. Additionally, educational materials will be developed to promote the benefits of active transportation and engage our community members in this revitalization effort.

This grant supports the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society to hire one additional summer student in support of the anticipated visitation increase resulting from the Canada Strong initiative.

The Build Your Own Superconducting Quantum Device workshop teaches participants to design, simulate, fabricate, and test superconducting circuits. It includes expert brainstorming, CAD tools, and a day of panels and networking. Participants have four months to design their own device, with awards for the most innovative ideas at a CMC-hosted competition.

Support provided for the Starsailor rocket launch project in the Cree community of Mistissini, Northern Quebec, highlighting scientific innovation and local collaboration. Funding covers team and equipment transport, on-site accommodation, and the acquisition or rental of necessary equipment to ensure a safe and successful launch.

This project is to improve energy efficiency in Canada's industrial sector.

The objective is to examine the influence of genetic lineages, as well as environmental and edaphic factors, on the composition and structure of the soil microbiome. In a second step, we wish to analyse black spruce genomic data to explore the concept of temporal conditional neutrality in order to better understand the interactions between population dynamics and adaptive evolutionary responses to Quaternary climate change.
