Through ADAPT: Accessible Diagnostics for Aging-in-Place Testing will be completed in a collaboration betweenLFAnt Medical and the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) to improve access to health screening solutions for older Canadians.The project focuses on the verification of the ADAPT platform for the early detection of urinary biomarkers for chronic kidney disease (CKD), which poses disproportionate and preventable health risks among older adults.

The Firm will strengthen operational capacity to execute clinical pilots and healthcare partnerships for its neurological assessment platform, PRIMS.

The PRIMS Motor Assessment Expansion and Clinical Readout Enhancement project aims to implement features that will allow us to target additional types of neurological tests, collect additional data and information to allow the company to extract validity and clinical utility details, and prepare the system for deployment in various clinical environments.

The ALIZE project implemented under a “pay-for-results” model aims to improve climate and economic resilience by implementing climate smart agriculture to protect biodiversity, farmers and their associations, enhancing the equitable adaptation to climate change for vulnerable rural women, particularly Indigenous women, and their cacao-growing communities. Project activities include: 1) developing and diversifying agroforestry systems based on gender-responsive climate smart agriculture, including for agricultural and domestic water access and management, reducing the vulnerabilities of women and their communities to climate change; 2) providing women-led technical assistance services on climate change adaptation in cacao-growing communities, including training on consolidating commercialization services for enhanced quality and certified cacao and gender-responsive financial products and services, such as financial literacy training; 3) delivering sessions on positive masculinities, recognizing women’s unpaid care work and promoting their leadership and decision-making related to natural resources governance.

This project aims to strengthen water security and climate resilience in municipalities and local communities located in Peru’s mining regions, especially for vulnerable women and men. This includes mobilizing close to $40 million USD in additional public and private investments, to ensure water availability for thousands of Peruvians and the private sector. Project activities include: (1) restoring and sustainably managing 20,000 hectares of critical water ecosystems; (2) strengthening the capacity of Peruvian authorities to more effectively manage natural water infrastructure; (3) expanding community access to nature based water management solutions and technologies; (4) improving policy frameworks that promote long term investment in water resources; and (5) integrating nature based tools and policies into national institutions and water utilities to benefit close to 60,000 people and help secure the long term sustainability of Peru’s natural water infrastructure systems.

This project will use JWST/MIRI and NIRSpec to capture the first-ever spectrum of purely neutral PAHs (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons) in space by observing nebulae surrounding cool stars that produce no ionizing radiation. This provides the missing piece to separate neutral from charged PAHs in all cosmic environments.

This project will use JWST/MIRI and NIRSpec to investigate mysterious infrared signals called Aromatic Infrared Bands by observing a dying star (NGC6644) and studying how their molecular structure evolves when exposed to ultraviolet light. By understanding this molecular evolution around dying stars, we can predict their behaviour in planet-forming disks, advancing our knowledge of how life’s organic building blocks are processed during star and planet formation.
