Support the acquisition, development, construction, improvement or repair as well as the management, maintenance, safety and accessibility of eligible fishing harbours.

Funding will support research and development to identify solutions to National Defence’s Challenge: Drone surge: Scaling tactical Uncrewed Aerial Systems manufacturing for modern defence. The Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) seek innovative, low-cost, attritable Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) to address gaps in military readiness and industrial capacity.

The project focuses on the development and testing of generative AI interfaces to be used as
part of Visual Defence’s AI product portfolio.

The purpose of the Indigenous Habitat Participation Program and the Salish Sea Initiative, is to support the participation of Indigenous peoples in activities relating to the conservation and protection of fish and fish habitat, including the development of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans’ (DFO) policies, program elements and regulations and the development of their technical capacity to support greater involvement in the conservation and protection of fish and fish habitat.

The purpose of the Indigenous Habitat Participation Program- Grant Funding is to meet the legal obligations to support the participation of Indigenous communities in consultations on Departmental Crown conduct (i.e., decisions, such as arrangements, approvals, authorizations and permits) under the Fisheries Act and/or Species at Risk Act.

The West End Treatment Plant Upgrades - Phase 2 for the City of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario project ensures that the West End Wastewater Treatment Plant will continue to meet the needs of Sault Ste. Marie's growing population and forecasted housing needs into the next decade. A reliable wastewater treatment plant is a critical piece of infrastructure required to support more homes. Wastewater in the City of Sault Ste. Marie is treated at two wastewater treatment plants: the East End Wastewater Treatment Plant (EEWWTP) and West End Wastewater Treatment Plant (WEWWTP). Both facilities discharge treated effluent to the Great Lakes, a sensitive and critical resource. The City is undertaking important upgrades to the WEWWTP to support planned growth in the west catchment area, reduce maintenance demands, and improve operational efficiencies. The upgrades include improvements to the aeration system, primary and secondary clarifier mechanisms, and conversion of the chlorine disinfection/dichlorination systems to UV disinfection. These improvements will enable 2,284 housing units and ensure high-quality treated effluent, complying with Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) criteria, while reducing chemical loading on the receiving waterbody and improving aquatic health.

McLean Wetland Rehabilitation

This project is to undertake several tasks associated with enabling energy saving behaviors and increasing the market penetration of highly efficient products with automated load management in homes, buildings and industry via tools, reports, and hosting venues with like-minded organizations.

This grant supports the National Parks scholarship program, administered by the Kakivak Association, under the Auyuittuq, Quttinirpaaq and Sirmilik National Parks Inuit Impact Benefit Agreement.

This contribution supports Tsawout First Nation to participate in and support the Feasibility Assessment for the proposed National Marine Conservation Area Reserve in the Southern Strait of Georgia, British Columbia.
