Grants and Contributions
About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

2024 Metal and Engineered Plastics Additive Manufacturing Industrial Demonstration Program
999533
The program will provide companies with project funding support to develop a better understanding of the advantages and business opportunities resulting from the adoption of additive manufacturing (AM) technology and processes including cost savings, reduced new product development cycle times and improved design and efficiency. It will also allow for them to develop direct experience of the capability of AM to produce low volume parts for many applications including the repair of high performance/low cost tools, dies and plastic and composite molds for stamping (conformal cooling), part consolidation and light-weighting parts.

Development and integration of InGaAs Geiger-Mode APD arrays for quantum imaging and communication
1002844
This collaboration focuses on the development of hybrid integrated InGaAs Geiger-mode avalanche photodiodes (GM-APDs) with a scalable CMOS readout for quantum imaging and communication applications. The project will create a scalable array of single-photon avalanche diodes implemented in InGaAs technology in a top-tier chip hybridized to a bottom-tier chip implemented in Si. The goal is to detect photons in the SWIR band with unprecedented signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at room temperature. The project will enable a large pixel formats similarly to visible cameras to improve novel solutions for quantum communication and imaging applications.

Prosaris has developed a SMART Ultrasonic Gas leak Detector and strives to add innovative capability by exploiting advanced DSP capabilities available for the current hardware. Prosaris must expand the technical team to included talented embedded software engineers with knowledge and experience of the development of FPGA devices. We will target 3 devices:
• MCU – Multiple MCU’s per device perform beamforming and data aggregation for 3 beamforming arrays.
• FPGA – New device intended to add pre-processing features like high resolution FFT.
• ARM MCU – This processor is embedded in the Bluetooth module included with the next gen HW and used as the system controller for accelerometer, time of flight range sensor and temperature sensor.
