About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

The development process will include engagement and consultation with subject matter experts, Traditional Knowledge holders and Métis women and gender-diverse folks to continually inform project outputs.
Once developed, the curriculum and resources will first be piloted and then implemented nationally, available for all Métis women and gender-diverse people. Through this work, LFMO will begin to set the stage for systemic change in which Métis women and gender-diverse people will experience equity and equality in leadership roles.

Understanding the Complexities of 2SLGBTQQIA+ lives to Grow Safer Futures in Wabanaki Territory

Through this 25-month project, Wabanaki Two Spirit Alliance will address the needs and barriers to equality for 2SLGBTQQIA+ communities, specifically for Two-Spirit, Trans, and Youth in the Wabanaki territory. This will be achieved by identifying barriers and better practices through literature and resources review, needs assessments, community and organizational engagement and consultations, and knowledge sharing events.
At the end of the project, Wabanaki Two Spirit Alliance will have developed and shared community-led policy recommendations on a wide-range of issues related to health care and mental health, social services, housing needs, cultural specific and safe care, and education for Wabanaki 2SLGBTQQIA+ members.

This is institutional support to the United Nations University - Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH) to implement new 5-year strategy (2025 to 2030). This strategy focuses on expanding research, capacity-building, knowledge-sharing, and partnerships to address global challenges in water, environment, and sanitation. As part of this strategy, UNU-INWEH seeks to explore new areas of work, including the development of post-graduate degree programs, additional in-person and online courses, new UNU Hubs on academic campuses, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training programs in the Global South, with emphasis on the Indo-Pacific region.
UNU-INWEH’s efforts contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and align with the Feminist International Assistance Policy by prioritizing marginalized groups, particularly women, who are disproportionately impacted by water-related challenges.
The expected activities of this project include: (1) strengthening capacity for policy-relevant research and education to address global water, environmental, and health challenges and developing initiatives to influence policy and communicate findings to academia and professionals; (2) expanding strategic partnerships to connect researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to encourage the uptake of research and the delivery of evidence-based solutions; and (3) increasing visibility and impact through flagship reports, peer-reviewed publications, policy briefs, and institute-led events on international platforms.

Building Capacities for Eco-Resilience in the Philippines

This project aims to increase resilience of Philippine ecosystems and citizens, particularly Indigenous Peoples and women and girls dependent on ecosystem services. It supports the adoption and implementation of an ecosystem-based DRR (Disaster Risk and Resilience) approach (Eco-DRR), namely measuring and mitigating the impacts of natural disasters on communities and ecosystems, and financing and planning ecosystem restoration and recovery activities when disasters occur.

Advancing Climate Resilience and Women’s Empowerment in Moldova

This technical assistance project is in support of a $120 million sovereign loan to the Republic of Moldova and aims to support climate resilience and gender equality in rural areas of Moldova. This is done through sustainable management of forest, pasture and agricultural resources, as well as economic and educational empowerment of women. Project activities include: (1) delivering gender-sensitive trainings on climate-smart agriculture, forest management, and integrated ecosystem-based agroforestry; (2) establishing nurseries for forest community -based enterprises; and (3) providing technical equipment and training to local public authorities.
