It supports local and regional women’s rights organizations (WROs), lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex plus (LBTQI+) groups and feminist networks working to promote the rights of women and girls and advance gender equality globally. It provides multi-year core funding and rapid responsive funding, strengthening institutional capacity and bolstering feminist alliances, as WROs and their networks are critical change agents.

Project activities include: (1) launching 2 calls for proposals for local organizations working with women on climate action and biodiversity in Nigeria; (2) training selected organizations and women beneficiaries in fundraising, financial literacy and climate-smart agriculture; (3) delivering gender-sensitive skills training of target communities in biodiversity conservation, and climate adaptation and mitigation; (4) implementing gender-sensitive local climate action awareness campaigns; and (5) building capacity of the local implementing partner in the design and implementation of gender-sensitive climate action projects.

This project is part of Canada’s Women’s Voice and Leadership Program, which supports local and regional women’s organisations and networks that are working to promote women’s rights, and advance women’s empowerment and gender equality in developing countries. This is done by supporting their activities, building their institutional capacity, and promoting network and alliance-building as women’s rights and feminist organizations are critical agents of change.

This project aims to enhance sustainability of biodiversity and enhance local livelihoods, particularly for women, in the Wechiau Community Hippo Sanctuary and Avu Lagoon Community Protected Area. It supports these communities by managing natural resources, conserving biodiversity, and providing critical ecosystem services. The project seeks to focus on protecting endangered species by increasing the participation of women, youth and marginalized groups in decision making forums such as the Community Resource Management Area. It also aims to provide support to women to develop diverse skills in sectors such as ecotourism, shea production and wildlife protection. Project activities include: (1) providing technical assistance to co-create, use, and disseminate knowledge for biodiversity conservation to non-governmental organizations, academic, and community groups, fostering inclusive and locally informed conservation efforts; (2) supplying and managing enterprises established through agribusiness and ecotourism; (3) establishing and strengthening market-ready and business-capable community cooperatives to operate ecotourism, plastic waste management, and agribusiness enterprises in a sustainable and inclusive manner; (4) developing feasibility and pilot programs to access species reintroduction, breeding, and conservation translocation strategies; and (5) providing technical assistance to community members, including women and youth, to protect land from destructive use and restore degraded areas.

Project activities include: (1) establishing a mechanism to strengthen non-technical survey data management; (2) training non-technical survey officers in best practices and methodologies for conducting gender-sensitive surveys; (3) procuring equipment for the national police explosive ordnance unit; (4) providing small grants for gender-sensitive community-driven mine action projects; and (5) promoting coordination and international mine action standards in Ukraine.

Project activities include: (1) supporting collection and analysis of data on care, gender and disability by reference centers in both provinces; (2) providing technical assistance, equipment and materials to local care system institutions and civil society organizations; (3) reviewing and transforming local development strategies from a care, gender and disability approach; (4) implementing community awareness programs on equal sharing of care, including innovative initiatives with

This project supports the South African government to improve accountability, efficiency and transparency in the public administration to promote inclusive and gender-responsive governance. Project activities include: (1) developing and implementing comprehensive strategies to prevent and address all forms of harassment; (2) enhancing anti-corruption and discipline management systems; and (3) implementing robust lifestyle audits and optimizing procurement policies to promote sustainability and accountability within the climate and energy sectors in South Africa.

It does so to increase gender-inclusive individual and collective rights in implementing protection policies and improve Indigenous justice and self governance in the peace processes impacting their territories; (3) advocating for increased engagement by Colombian authorities to protect Indigenous people’s rights to land and resources; (4) building the technical capacities of national and local level institutions to protect EHRDs and

This project supports the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) capacity build uniformed men and women medical and paramedical personnel for peace operations. UNITAR delivers basic field trauma training, including mental health components, and advanced medical training or a training of trainers. The United Nations (UN) selects troop- and police-contributing countries based on their ranking, participation in previous trainings, and come from Africa and Asia. Project activities include: (1) conducting needs assessments; (2) undertaking a preparatory workshop for trainers; (3) delivering up to 4 3-week basic field medical training, including mental health components; (4) delivering up to 4 2-week advanced medical or mental health training; and (5) delivering up to 4 2-week trainings of trainers course on basic field medical training.
