The specific objectives of this funding opportunity are to:
• To provide recognition and funding to academic health research trainees;
• To provide a reliable supply of highly skilled and qualified researchers.

The Canada Graduate Scholarships-Master’s (CGS M) Program helps develop research skills and assist in the training of highly qualified personnel by supporting students who demonstrate a high standard of achievement in undergraduate and early graduate studies.

The Indigenous Healthy Life Trajectories Initiative (I-HeLTI) was developed as an extension to the HeLTI to support Indigenous-focused Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD) cohorts in collaboration with First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities. It consists of three components: 1. Development Grants; 2. Team Grants; and 3. Team Grant Cohort Research Study. In 2022, the Alberta and British Columbia teams were granted funds to establish one I-HeLTI Intervention Cohort Research Study, as well as an I-HeLTI Collaborating Centre to support the activities of the cohort research study. With additional funds now available, CIHR has decided to offer supplemental funding to these teams through directed grants. The total amount available is for two (2) grants of $408,333 each, over a period of four (4) years, with a funding start date of January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2029. This supplement is intended to: 1. Sustain and expand upon I-HeLTI community programs; 2. Deliver high-quality knowledge translation (KT) for family and community support programs; 3. Address needs for long term sustainability; and 4. Maintain data collection and engagements in First Nation communities.

• Define best practices for delivering clinical genetic and genomic information to patients for the field of inherited diseases holistically along with the associated emotional, psychological, and/or practical support required during and after diagnosis. This may include, but is not limited to:
o Ensuring accessibility of information;
o Using technology to enable initial and ongoing genetic counselling;
o Addressing access to psychological and social services;
o Promoting information dissemination throughout patients’ lifetimes; and,
o Advancing opportunities to connect with other patients.
• Identify capacity building opportunities for AHPs to sustain the increase in genetic testing in clinical settings.
• Foster knowledge mobilization to inform timely uptake of new information and maximize impact of the above goals across institutions, disciplines, jurisdictions, and sectors by identifying equitable, effective and sustainable implementation solutions.

Canada’s annual assessed contribution to the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Basic Activities for the calendar year 2026.

The project will support the development and implementation of regional tenant rights workshops and materials in five jurisdictions and will establish regional tenant advocacy cohorts to form a national community focused on gender-responsive tenant protection. The project will formalize partnerships with legal and community organizations and convene roundtables and consultations to discuss emerging issues and make policy recommendations to municipal, provincial and federal housing authorities.

The annual contribution will ensure Canada continues to meet its financial obligations to the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law, as well as fulfilling Canada's international policy objectives.
