Empowering women and girls through skill building for economic empowerment and creating awareness on various forms of violence in Bhutan.

The Climate Resilience through Empowering Women project aims to strengthen the climate resilience of coffee-growing communities in Southern Ethiopia while promoting the economic empowerment of marginalized women. The project is expected to deliver changes at the farm or household, mill, and wider industry levels to adapt to a changing climate, with a particular focus on women, who, despite playing a critical role in coffee production and processing, are economically marginalized. Also, they are routinely excluded from positions of leadership, influence, and decision-making. The project activities include: (1) increasing women’s empowerment to equip and empower Ethiopian women as leaders in the rejuvenation of coffee farms and the production of climate resilient, specialty coffee; and (2) enhancing climate change mitigation to protect and replenish the coffee forests of western and southern Ethiopia to ensure continued capture of greenhouse gases. This would reduce the vulnerability of coffee farms to increases in temperature and precipitation. The project benefits 77,000 women and men smallholder coffee farmers.

The RÉELS project aims to strengthen the capacities of women, communities and local organizations to identify the vulnerability of ecosystems and biodiversity in their territory and to identify nature-based solutions as a tool for adaptation to climate change.

The overarching objective of the work supported by the UN Voluntary Trust Fund for Victims of Torture is to assist victims of torture and their families to rebuild their lives through the award of grants through a variety of channels, including: civil society organizations, associations of victims, private and public hospitals, legal clinics, public interest law firms, and community organizations.

The capability of the instrument to be developed by this project will be unmatched in the blue and near-UV by any current or planned observatory.

This project will provide exceptional training for students in the development and operation of complex instruments in a space-like environment.

The Pandora Mission is low-cost space telescope designed measure the composition of distant transiting planets. The Pandora payload has the unique capability of measuring precision photometry simultaneously with near-infrared spectroscopy that will enable scientists to disentangle stellar activity from the subtle signature of a planetary atmosphere.

With a launch date of March 2025, the Pandora mission represents a new class of low-cost space mission that will achieve out-of-this-world science.

This project’s purpose is to educate, train and actively engage as many students (college, bachelors, masters and doctorate) as possible in STEM and in particular, space technology and science.

The RADSAT-SK2 project’s main purpose is to enable Saskatchewan post-secondary students to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to participate in the Canadian aerospace industry, while contributing to scientific research in space technologies. A major goal of the project is to bring together the University of Saskatchewan and University of Regina under the common effort of demonstrating and evaluating the effectiveness of new radiation mitigating technologies for computer hardware in space, engaging students in unique hands-on learning, and educating the public about Canada's and Saskatchewan's contributions to STEM.
