The specific objectives of this funding opportunity are to:

• Support policy research on how changes and/or different approaches to the financing, funding, organization, governance and/or delivery of health care systems and/or services and public health systems and/or services can impact the Quadruple Aim and health equity.
• Advance the methods and/or measurement approaches for health policy research.
• Mobilize diverse methodologies, multiple disciplines and perspectives, and knowledge mobilization approaches to generate evidence that is relevant and useful for policymakers.
• Provide policymakers with evidence-informed, contextualized policy options to support high-performing health systems and/or services (in the health care and/or public health settings) that advance the Quadruple Aim and health equity.
• Foster the creation of new or strengthening of existing partnerships and collaborations between researchers, policymakers and knowledge users with lived experience to align research with policy priorities by working together in pursuit of evidence-informed health systems transformation.

• Incorporating sex and gender into health research makes for better science that is more rigorous and more applicable to the needs of everybody. The CIHR Institute of Gender and Health (CIHR-IGH) will provide bridge funding for applications that are relevant to its mandate:
o CIHR-IGH mandate is to foster research excellence regarding the influence of sex and gender on health and to apply these findings to identify and address pressing health challenges facing men, women, girls, boys and gender-diverse people.
• These one (1) year operating grants afford Principal Investigators an opportunity to resubmit their research proposal without the loss of momentum, staff, or trainees.

• These one (1) year operating grants afford Early Career Researchers an opportunity to advance their women’s health research program.

• This prize will be given annually to the highest ranking funded project in the Project Grant competition that is relevant to one of the Institute of Aging’s Strategic Directions as described below:
o Strategic Direction 1: Health and Wellness over the Trajectory of Aging
Priority Areas:
¿ Life trajectory as a determinant of healthy and satisfying aging
¿ Added life to the later years
o Strategic Direction 2: Facing the Complex Health Challenges of an Older Population
Priority Areas:
¿ Understanding, preventing and addressing multiple chronic conditions

Cystic Fibrosis Canada has since its beginnings, funded high-quality CF research by Canadian researchers from across the country. We’ve always had the goal to fund the best research that will help advance our understanding of the disease and improve the lives of people with cystic fibrosis. The specific research topics were generally directed by the research interests of the scientists themselves, and by their ability to communicate well the need to fund their particular research questions.

The specific objectives of this funding opportunity are:
• To provide recognition and funding to academic researchers;
• To provide a reliable supply of highly skilled and qualified researchers.
