One of the primary objectives of XRISM is to understand the gas motions of the Perseus cluster of galaxies and how these connect to the black hole feedback processes. We propose a collaboration that will bring a unique set of expertise and observations. We will build a recurrent inference machine (i.e. a type of neural network) that can successfully deconvolve the intrinsic X-ray spectrum of a source from the XRISM instrumental response function. Overall, this collaboration will significantly enhance the XRISM science case for Perseus, and more generally, galaxy clusters.

Science North will reimagine the visitor experience in Space Place to engage audiences in a series of exhibits related to Canada and the Moon, increasing young Canadians’ awareness of Canadian Space projects and interest in pursuing STEM education and careers. Exhibits will explore the Canada’s participation in the Artemis Program, as well as the work that Canadian space scientists are doing to drive next-generation technologies for space exploration, including a range of opportunities for lunar science, robotics, AI and lunar rover technology.

This project objective is to update the permanent Space exhibit to feature more current information related to Canada’s participation in present and future endeavours related to Moon exploration, such as Artemis Missions and the Lunar Gateway. In this exhibit, children will have the opportunity to learn about the process of designing and building technology such as the Canadarm3, other Gateway modules, and lunar rover components; transporting people into space and to the Moon via the Artemis Missions; and how ongoing research can be applied to the wider exploration of the galaxy.

This project aims to broaden the reach and impact of astronomy and space science educational programming for Black, Indigenous and Youth of Colour in Nova Scotia. Recognizing the importance of inclusive and equitable access to astronomy and space science education, "Project Luna" will incorporate culturally responsive programming and look to fostering spaces of belonging with all participants. This program will empower and foster youth leadership skills while promoting interest in and awareness of astronomy and space science.

This project aim to design a new student experience by building on the strength of an existing School Program that has served the school communities for decades. This renewed classroom program will immerse students in the topics of sky science, space exploration, and the upcoming Artemis space missions. The new program titled "Mission SPACE: Artemis Edition" will take place in our iconic S.P.A.C.E. exhibition and focusses on Canada’s role in moon exploration, with special attention paid to the Artemis program.

The main objectif of the project is to inform and educate the youth and their educators on the innovation within outer space travel and Canada’s contribution to space exploration. The public will be enlightened and ‘wow’d as they experience maneuvering a virtual space robotic arm, rounding out their education and experience of Canada’s contribution to space exploration and the rest of their outreach educational programming. This program will be accessible for groups throughout the province and taken on the road with our GO!

This project aims to strengthen the advocacy of survivors’ networks in Iraq while addressing the implementation gap of the Yazidi Survivors Law by working with the Directorate of Victims and facilitating meaningful participation of Yazidi women and girl survivors in the process. Project activities include: (1) providing training and networking support to survivor groups in Sinjar and Dohuk; and (2) providing technical assistance to state actors on how to ensure a survivor-centred approach to the law's implementation. The Global Survivors Fund implements this project.
