Project activities include: (1) Journalists and content-creators trained on inclusive governance principles, countering gendered- information manipulation, gender-transformative reporting, and on digital, physical, and psycho-social security strategies; (2) Journalists and content-creators trained on content monetization strategies, grant writing, digitalization, and revenue diversification; (3) Local grassroots women rights movements, CSOs, CBOs & activists trained on media relations, digital & media campaigns, communication planning, and digital, physical, & psycho-social security strategies; (4) Civil servants, government officials, and political aspirants trained on gender-sensitive communication strategies, and GBA+ analysis in data collection, policy-formulation, budgeting and service delivery; and (5) Thematic Roundtable discussions between media, government officials, and women’s rights CSOs and CBOs on gender equality, women representation and civic engagement.

Foster AI commercialization & adoption through Manitoba's interactive digital media sector

This project will use natural and hybrid infrastructure for the conversion of hardscape and urban heat island parking lot in the form of a rooftop garden by constructing a rooftop garden and balcony areas of approximately 8250 square feet, a green roof and the attendant irrigation, support, soil media and stormwater management systems, planting trees and plantings that are native to both Southern Ontario and Estonia with focus on biodiversity, greenery, apiary, pollinating gardens, bird habitat, and supporting it’s accessibility by installing design elements such as walkways, signage, benches, garbage bins and lighting.

This contribution supports the production “A Black People’s History of Canada”, an initiative whose goal is to fill a gap in history education by providing Black history curricular content, including digital media, for schools across Canada.

This project aims to combine expertise from Digital Media Zone (DMZ) at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) with key assets from Chiba University (Japan) to promote entrepreneurship education, co-innovation, and ecosystem development, in a collaboration between Canada and Japan.

Project activities include: (1) supporting women’s rights groups to preserve and expand civic space; (2) equipping media and communication professionals with tools to effectively monitor and prevent hate speech and misinformation; and (3) building capacity for existing community networks to contribute to and participate in decision-making and dialogue mechanisms at local and national levels.

The project aims to increase voter resilience in the Philippines, Czechia, and Côte d’Ivoire to foreign manipulation and interference in information. Over a period of 15 months, the project will coordinate with journalists, content creators, civil society and public sector actors, as well as international partners and election observers, to develop context-specific interventions in the targeted countries, conduct tailored and gender-responsive training workshops, and provide technical support. The project will also establish and operate a monitoring and early warning team, which will set up a designated physical “situation room” in the country to detect, analyze, and disseminate information on interference patterns and relevant narratives, and develop actions to counter foreign manipulation and interference in information in these countries.

Audit topics are selected using a three-pronged approach that includes consulting with 16 CSOs and 9 media outlets with CSOs, considering gender, human rights, the environment, and impacts of climate change.

The publication of open-source conference proceedings as well as two op-eds will be published in major media outlets in Sri Lanka and Canada, a co-authored peer-reviewed manuscript will be submitted to a top-tier journal, and a public policy document will be created to propose a framework for food security as a core objective of Canada’s

Project activities include: (1) training existing and potential duty bearers on feminist leadership; (2) expanding capacities and connections between existing and potential women leaders; (3) conducting awareness and learning campaigns in support of women’s leadership with community stakeholders; (4) conducting intergenerational dialogues with political parties and leaders on women’s leadership potential; (5) facilitating workshops with local governments on power analysis, critical self-reflection and feminist leadership; (6) training women leaders, community based organizations, women’s rights organizations and networks on inclusive citizen-led accountability practices and advocacy; (7) training local media on investigative methods for promoting accountability; and (8) facilitating dialogues among minority women leaders, women’s rights organizations, civil society organizations, networks, and local government institutions.
