The purpose of this CanExport Associations contribution agreement is to support organizations and ultimately aims to increase the competitiveness of Canadian companies, in the international marketplace, on a sectoral basis, thereby contributing to Canadian prosperity and the growth of the Canadian economy. This financial support enables the recipient to undertake new or expanded international business development promotion activities, in a given sector, for the benefit of its entire industry (member and non-member firms).

This grant is Canada's long-term institutional support for the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF). The OIF uses these funds, as well as those of other donors, to carry out its mandate. The OIF's mandate includes: (1) the promotion of the French language and cultural and linguistic diversity; (2) the promotion of peace, democracy and human rights; (3) support for education, training, higher education and research; and (4) the promotion of sustainable economic development and solidarity. The OIF aims to incorporate the transversal axes of youth and gender equality into the implementation of its strategic objectives. The OIF conducts its activities with other institutions of La Francophonie, civil society and national, international and multilateral organizations. It delivers its programming through advocacy, project funding, technical assistance, training, awareness-raising and the dissemination of knowledge in French. Through its Strategic Framework 2015-2022, the OIF aims to place the action of La Francophonie in the international context of the fight against poverty and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Canada's support for OIF programming contributes, in particular, to the enhancement of the French language in a context of linguistic and cultural diversity, the strengthening of democratic governance and the rule of law among its members, the strengthening of access for all children to quality education and training, and the development of the Post-2015 Development Agenda.

Canada’s assessed contribution to the UN Support to the African Union Mission in Somalia (UNSOA)

This project aims to help address the significant gender imbalance in the field of weapons and ammunition management (WAM) by providing technical training to women. This training will allow them to take on technical positions in this male-dominated sector and deliver technical trainings on weapons and ammunition management to security institutions in host countries. It also aims to support the universalization and implementation of the Arms Trade Treaty, in particular, the obligation of States Parties to implement national control systems and prevent diversion of weapons and ammunition. Project activities include the delivery of a series of train-the-trainer technical trainings such as ammunition management, explosive ordnance disposal and weapons marking, registration and recordkeeping.

Monitoring and reporting violations of free speech and free press during the election year of 2022

Enhance the conservation and recovery of species at risk by supporting Indigenous communities as they acquire, develop and apply the technical resources, skills and knowledge necessary to partner in Species at Risk Act (SARA) implementation

Canada's Fisheries Fund will transform and drive innovation in the fish and seafood sector in Canada with a focus on developing the sector to better meet growing market demands for sustainably sourced, high-quality fish and seafood products.

Contribution as part of the Policy Dialogue Program to Union of British Columbia Indian Chiefs to assist in preparing for and engaging in participation activities associated with the ongoing Review of Legislative, Regulatory, and Policy Development Processes.

Grant as part of the Research Program to Secrétariat international francophone pour l’évaluation environnementale (SIFÉE) to assist in facilitating the development and use of rigorous and innovative science, techniques and methods to ensure the conduct of high quality assessments and assessment decision-making based on science and knowledge.

Grant as part of the Participant Funding Program to NunatuKavut Community Council to assist in preparing for and engaging in Indigenous consultation activities and public participation opportunities associated with the assessment process for the Regional Assessment of Offshore Wind Development in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia.
