Students on Ice (SOI) Foundation will bring together a group of 6 Canadian youth leaders and 4 expert staff for a unique delegation that will contribute to the global conversation, understanding, and collaborative action surrounding Canada’s role in the Antarctic Treaty, Ocean Conservation, and Climate Change.
The delegation will include Inuit, First Nations and Southern Canadian youth leaders, who will each bring their own experience, perspectives, knowledge and background to the delegation.
Youth delegates will join not only a transformative two-week delegation, but also affirm their roles within SOI’s life-long alumni network, amplify the voices of Northern Youth, inspire climate action, and promote the development and dissemination of knowledge of circumpolar regions, including the Antarctic.

The purpose of this contribution is to provide funding to implement a three-year prevention/intervention plan alongside multi-sectoral community partners to decrease risk factors and increase protective factors among participating high risk and vulnerable youth.

The purpose of this contribution is to provide funding for the installation of security equipment such as: a closed circuit television system, access control system and intrusion system, including training on how to use the equipment.

The purpose of this contribution is to provide funding to hire a project lead to conduct research and community consultation exercises to identify and address knowledge gaps at the community level related to public safety and youth crime prevention and intervention, including risk factors related to gang activity and gun violence.

Through this 40-month project, Femmes Autochtones du Québec Inc. will increase its ability to prevent and address gender-based violence against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQI+ people. This will be achieved by raising awareness, knowledge sharing, and fighting against discrimination through the implementation of a formal partnership/coalition between Indigenous and non-Indigenous stakeholders with similar mandates, the organization of two conferences: one aimed towards service providers and another aimed towards the 2SLGBTQI+ community, and the development of an ongoing toolkit and resource guide which will be shared with their network online.
By the end of the project, Femmes Autochtones du Québec Inc. will have strengthened its capacity to prevent and address gender-based violence against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQI+ people.

Through this 16-month project, Quadrangle NL will develop community-informed initiatives to inform service providers and decision makers of key healthcare issues facing 2SLGBTQIA+ communities in Newfoundland and Labrador. Particularly, the project will research barriers and potential solutions to accessible and affirming healthcare, will increase awareness of prevention treatments for HIV in the province, and will suggest potential changes to tools, policies and/or education materials so that healthcare providers can better support 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals in Newfoundland and Labrador. This will be achieved through research activities such as conducting surveys and interviews and through workshop and resource development.

By the end of the project, Quadrangle NL will have increased knowledge about healthcare issues affecting 2SLGBTQIA+ communities in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador and will be able to inform changes to policies and practices, and positively impact norms, attitudes and behaviours towards a more equality-advanced healthcare.

Through this 16-month project Essie’s Place – A Society for People with Diverse Genders and Sexualities will develop community-informed solutions to key barriers and gaps facing LGBTQ2 communities. This will be achieved with a focus on combatting discrimination and engaging GBQ+ and gender diverse men in the Shuswap region for learning and sharing about safe sexual health practices. Essie’s Place will deliver an 11-month Diversity and Learning Festival to community members and will offer GBQ+ and gender diverse men opportunities to inform and build an online knowledge centre.

By the end of the project, Essie’s Place – A Society for People with Diverse Genders and Sexualities will have developed community-informed solutions to address key barriers and gaps facing LGBTQ2 communities with a focus on enhanced resources on safe sexual practices and better support for the Shuswap region and surrounding areas on diversity awareness.
