To support the federal government’s commitment to maintain a strong and effective publicly funded health care system through investments in emerging and demonstrated innovations in priority areas, such as palliative and end-of-life care, home and community care, mental health care and other federal, provincial-territorial and emerging priorities.

Contribution as part of the Participant Funding Program to Mi'gmawe'l Tplu’taqnn Inc. (MTI) (Representing 8 communities: Fort Folly First Nation, Eel Ground First Nation, Pabineau First Nation, Esgenoôpetitj First Nation, Buctouche First Nation, Indian Island First Nation, Eel River Bar First Nation, Metepenagiag Mi'kmaq) to assist in preparing for and engaging in Indigenous consultation activities and public participation opportunities associated with the assessment process for the Regional Assessment of the Offshore Wind Development in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The overarching objective of the Union Training and Innovation Program aims to strengthen apprenticeship training systems to better support a skilled, inclusive, certified and productive trades workforce by improving the efficiency and effectiveness of training provided. .The streams have the following specific objectives: .Stream 1 (Equipment) will increase investment in training equipment and materials for higher quality training, leading to a more skilled and productive trade workforce. .Stream 2 (Innovation in Apprenticeship) will support innovation and enhanced partnerships to address long-standing and complex challenges that limit apprenticeship outcomes. .Stream 3 (Women in Construction Fund [WCF]) will support projects that expand or replicate successful models to encourage more women to participate and succeed in apprenticeship and the skilled trades. Stream 4 (Trades Exploration and Experience Program) will support projects that encourage Canadians to explore, prepare for, participate and succeed in apprenticeship and skilled trades careers.

This project is focused on building capacity for forest access, management and use for Indigenous forest economic development opportunities.

The project advances the Government of Canada commitment to plant an incremental two billion trees by March 31, 2031, to tackle the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss.
