With GAC’s support, HelpAge Canada is supporting the most at-risk older people at home and their caregivers, older people displaced, those staying with others and those residing in social care institutions, in conflict-affected communities in east Ukraine. Project activities include: (1) providing basic social care services for home bound older women and men, including non-food items such as hygiene kits; (2) providing mobile teams to support most at-risk older people in social care institutions with protection services; (3) providing referrals and case management for older people and caregivers requiring additional protection support; (4) providing community-based protection activities, including mental health and psychosocial support; (5) providing cash for protection; and (6) distributing winterisation items to selected social care institutions.

Improving health and wellbeing of 5,000 marginalized adolescent girls and women in tribal communities of Telangana, India, through menstrual health and hygiene management (MHM) and awareness on Sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).

This project aims to increase the adaptation of young rural women and their communities to climate change in the Guéra province of Chad. The project also contributes to strengthening the skills and effectiveness of groups and cooperatives in developing climate-smart food systems with and for young women groundnut and sesame producers.

Project activities include: (1) training women in peanut and sesame production in soil restoration and conservation techniques adapted to water stress and based on improved local knowledge; (2 ) implementing community reforestation and restoration campaigns for strategic aquatic and wetland ecosystems.

This project aims to increase the resilience of rural communities, especially women and youth, to climate change by sustainably improving biodiversity and connectivity of strategic ecosystems.

Designed as a multi-donor program, and in partnership with the Climate Policy Initiative (CPI), the project provides grant funding and technical assistance to accelerate the development and scale-up of climate finance solutions in developing countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. The key objective of the project is to contribute to the development of a pipeline of investable solutions aimed at achieving climate change mitigation and adaptation outcomes, in sectors such as clean energy, climate-smart agriculture and nature-based solutions. It also includes mobilizing resources, particularly from the private sector, for the sustainable development goals.

Project activities include: (1) delivering grant funding to selected applicants to structure, launch, and expand their blended finance solution; (2) providing technical assistance to selected applicants to develop their capacities to ensure their blended finance vehicles can generate business traction and accelerate the mobilization of capital; and (3) developing a learning hub as a critical knowledge platform, capturing learnings and ensuring knowledge transfer to various actors, thus creating synergies and increasing efficiencies in the climate finance ecosystem.

The project’s direct beneficiaries are selected individuals and institutions implementing climate finance solutions in developing countries. These actors contribute to addressing the impacts of climate change and increasing the capacity of economically disadvantaged groups, including women and girls, by financing projects with climate mitigation and adaptation as the main intended impacts. Between 14 to 20 grantees are expected to be supported by the end of the project.

The Strengthening Ethiopia’s Adaptive Safety Net (SEASN) project is a social protection initiative designed to reduce poverty and vulnerability among the rural poor and help to stabilize household health and nutrition during economic shocks, enhance livelihoods during stability, and enable people to overcome their vulnerability to food insecurity.

The ultimate outcome of the project is to strengthen the national capacities for intercultural dialogue and conflict prevention, ensuring effective participation of indigenous peoples, with a focus on indigenous women. To achieve this goal, the project aims to produce two outcomes: 1) strengthen the capacities of the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador (PUCE) to facilitate the monitoring of the implementation of the agreements reached between the Government and indigenous organizations; 2) reinforce the capacities of national actors to build and sustain a permanent dialogue network.

This project has two levels of implementation: 1) contributing to the proper functioning of the monitoring mechanism of the agreements between the Government and the indigenous organizations.

Building on the achievements and stakeholder relationships of Phase I to institutionalize the peace education curriculum across the Tunisian primary education system, Search for Common Ground is aiming to support the Ministry of Education (MoE) in the roll-out of the peace education curriculum to all Tunisian primary schools, training inspectors and teachers, as well as the development of additional accompanying materials to the curriculum, thereby enhancing the MoE’s efforts to reform the Tunisian education system, while building the capacity of teachers and MoE staff to integrate peace, gender, and human rights considerations into teaching and educational activities.Search will also continue to support local civil society organizations and Peace Clubs in youth centers to further build their capacity to instill civic values, while increasing their sustainability and a stronger connection to the Ministry of Education component.

This project will address key issues encountered with conventional electronic beamforming networks (BFN) used in space-based Radio-Frequency phased array antennas, popular in recent low cost, large, Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation projects.
