This project seeks to improve the socio-economic integration of refugees and displaced persons, as well as the vulnerable populations of host communities, in the Kayes, Mopti and Ségou regions and the greater Bamako area, including specific support to address the particular needs of women. Project activities include the following: (1) providing a diverse range of adapted training to better meet demand and the needs of the target groups, mainly women and young people; (2) providing instructors with training on the non-violent, gender-responsive management of conflicts; (3) implementing environmentally sensitive revenue-generating activities tailored to the target groups; (4) providing the target groups with support to develop business plans and get funding; and (5) carrying out micro-projects involving shared communal infrastructure, including specific micro-projects for women.

This project aims to enhance equitable and inclusive learning outcomes for vulnerable refugees, internally displaced people (IDP), returnees and host community children and youth, particularly girls, living in fragile conflict settings in Cameroon and Niger. The project strengthens refugee- and IDP-led organizations to ensure predictable funding, bolster internal capacities and build networks for advocacy for refugee education, poverty reduction and gender equality. Project activities include: (1) conducting participatory institutional capacity assessments with refugee- and IDP-led organizations; (2) delivering training on strategy, decision-making, financial management and resource mobilization; (3) providing small grants to enable gender-transformative organizational development and technical capacity development; and (4) strengthening networks for collective advocacy from refugee- and IDP-led organizations on access to inclusive and quality education. The project expects to reach nearly 40,000 children from refugee and host communities as direct beneficiaries. The project expects to indirectly reach approximately 80,000 beneficiaries, with a focus on supporting girls and other marginalized groups facing intersectional barriers to education.

With GAC’s support, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) works to meet the immediate food, health, protection and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) needs of the most vulnerable populations in Sri Lanka, through an integrated and multi-sectoral response. Project activities include: (1) distributing nutritional dry rations, school packs and menstrual hygiene products to vulnerable households; (2) delivering mental health, psychosocial support and first aid support; (3) providing safe drinking water; and (4) training volunteers on preventing and addressing sexual and gender-based violence.
