The "The Future of Earth from Satellite Images" training program enhances post-secondary students' training in space, spaceborne images, image processing and analysis by providing up-to-date, employment-ready knowledge and skills to meet the needs of an expanding geomatics industry.
The ten-day professional program is designed to boost the career development goals of participants. The program provides introductory remote sensing knowledge for post-secondary students who didn't complete regular geomatics courses during their studies to meet the geomatics literacy required in their careers. It enhances the capacity of Indigenous students and visible minority groups to meet the growing need for knowledge and experience requested by industry.

The program is designed to train and mentor post-secondary students in five specific areas:

1. Introduction to space and spaceborne image acquisition.
2. Data Science and Analytics.
3. Data Visualization skills and advanced methods for presenting information extracted from imagery.
4. Knowledge Mobilization, facilitated by establishing a geomatics research network that will provide mentorship and research projects that are linked with method standardization and experimental design to address the natural resource industry.
5. Work Experience and Professional Development through research projects at the Department of Geography and the Environment.

The objective of the SSLP is to help all learners improve their educational outcomes throughout their life so that they can get the skills they need to succeed in the labour market by supporting learners, providing supports and building approaches that address issues related to learning and skills.

The objectives of the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy Program (YESSP) are to help all youth navigate through the labour market and to successfully transition into sustained employment. These objectives are attained by supporting the needs of all youth, especially youth facing barriers to develop skills, knowledge and networks through education, skills development and meaningful work experiences.

The Project will support the development of an innovation plan to explore integrating AI into the Firm’s core business within the early phases of a CLEVR customer journey from Marketing to Sales to Onboarding new customers.

Tanveer will lead efforts to audit current project management systems, identify a central too for oversight and reporting timelines. He will learn the functions, processes and pain points of each SMARTBUILD department and then research and recommend best in class AI tools to enhance processes and improve productivity and growth of the firm.

The Project will support pilot testing of AI strategies, determine target architecture and quantitative technical objectives for implementation of an AI solution.
