About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Project activities include: (1) raising awareness of the need for gender- and conflict-sensitive approaches in humanitarian response, recovery and reconstruction efforts in Ukraine; (2) training and accompanying members of civil society and local authorities across Ukraine on gender- and conflict-sensitivity; (3) conducting peace and conflict analysis in targeted sectors and geographic regions to inform policy and strategy development; and (4) organizing analytical peacebuilding platforms (Peace Cafés) to bring together local civil society organizations; volunteers and veterans engaged in civic activities; local, national and regional authorities; and academics to discuss topics relevant to recovery and reconstruction in Ukraine.

Through this 26-month systemic change project, Catholic community services of York Region will help advance women’s economic security and prosperity through systemic change. Specifically, the project will address systemic barriers within male-dominated industries/sectors by (1) Research barriers to Newcomer and BIPOC women’s involvement in male-dominated industries and develop evidence-based framework; (2) Pilot the framework with Male-dominated industry; (3) Create a network of Champions; and (4) Mobilize knowledge through Outreach, Advocacy and Engagement to drive Systemic Change. An external evaluator will measure and assess the impact of the systemic change project.

FEMMEDINA: Inclusive City Program

The project seeks to promote the socio-economic empowerment of women residing in the medinas by improving public spaces and strengthening the capacities of municipalities to integrate gender considerations into their sustainable urban planning processes.
The project's activities include: 1) online communication and awareness campaigns on the inclusion and engagement of women in the medinas, as well as strengthening the capacities of Tunisian municipalities to integrate women's needs into city governance ; 2) identifying local NGOs led by women to manage and animate rehabilitated spaces ; 3) creating products aimed at capturing, documenting, and sharing lessons learned, best practices, and impacts achieved during the first phase of the Femmedina Inclusive City Program, to demonstrate the importance of gender integration in public space planning and to enable the replication of the project's successes in other regions ; 4) training for municipal executives and staff on integrating a gender perspective into governance and urban planning, as well as knowledge and experience exchanges with other Tunisian cities and international city networks, including Canadian cities pioneering inclusive urban development.

Project activities include: (1) training health professionals and community services providers to provide integrated gender responsive sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), MNCH and nutrition services; (2) providing technical and financial support to states and local government authorities to procure, transport and deliver essential SRHR, MNCH and nutrition supplies including data tools and commodities; (3) raising awareness among community influencers and leaders on sexual and reproductive health (SRH), MNCH and nutrition related rights and services and harmful gender norms; (4) empowering civil society organizations and local community organizations to promote responsive SRH, MNCH and nutrition related rights and services; (5) training policy makers and program managers on effective planning, programming and decision making for gender responsive SRHR, MNCH, and nutrition services; and (6) strengthening the health information management systems for decision making in regard to SRHR, MNCH and nutrition services.
