The objective of the Canada Graduate Research Scholarship — Doctoral (CGRS D) program is to recognize and support the next generation of outstanding innovators, knowledge workers, creative thinkers and researchers. The objective of the Canada Graduate Research Scholarship — Doctoral (CGRS D) program is to recognize and support the next generation of outstanding innovators, knowledge workers, creative thinkers and researchers. The Centre for Research on Pandemic Preparedness and Health Emergencies (CRPPHE) is housed at CIHR with a mandate to grow Canada's research leadership in preparedness, prevention, response, and recovery from pandemics and public health emergencies, including by building and supporting Canadian research capacity in the field.

CRPPHE will fund applications that address its mandate and that have a primary research objective related to preparing for and/or responding to existing and future pandemics and other health emergencies*. In addition, applications must address one or more of the research areas listed below. CRPPHE encourages interdisciplinary applications including applications taking One Health*, holistic or Indigenous approaches to research.

The specific objectives of this funding opportunity are to:

• Foster the creation and/or strengthening of research partnerships that reinforce trust and mutual understanding between researchers, knowledge users (including people with lived and/or living experience, policy-makers, decision-makers, and health providers), knowledge holders, communities, and health and community organizations (including public health).
• Support the time and enablers required for meaningful co-produced activities that are driven by the needs of communities and/or organizations in order to produce a useful and/or useable output or outcome, and that will advance health equity and/or other goals of the Quintuple Aim Framework.
• Evaluate co-production processes used within the research partnerships, as part of a learning approach that contributes to continuous improvement and the field of knowledge mobilization.
