Project activities include: (1) providing training to teachers on COVID-19 awareness, well-being, psychosocial support, and teaching pedagogy; and (2) rehabilitating classrooms and schools, with a focus on ensuring gender-sensitive water and sanitation facilities.

This project works closely with the Government of Mozambique to provide technical assistance to strengthen the capacity of social protection institutions to expand and effectively deliver gender-responsive social assistance programs. This project provides urgent mobile cash transfers to urban and peri-urban program beneficiaries to address immediate shocks and loss of income caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, helping them meet their essential needs and preserve nutrition. Targeted messaging on COVID-19 prevention addressing gender equality issues and on nutrition accompany every cash transfer.

Project activities include: (1) engaging multiple stakeholders, including established country partners, to create links between key market actors; (2) providing training, information sharing, and outreach to women and youth to strengthen their capacity; (3) coordinating gender sensitive social outreach and engagement campaigns targeting market actors, to address barriers and enhance access to inclusive, sustainable and climate resilient agricultural market systems; and (4) fostering climate resilient approaches (re-orienting agricultural development for sustainability), at every stage and via every market actor in the agricultural value chain.

The project will focus on researching, designing and developing a data analysis procedure to assess the risk of brain injuries in youth (18-30 yo) athletes based on a number of simple, easy to collect biometrics such as height, weight, age, gender, etc.

At the end of the project, the organization will have increased its knowledge and capacity to advance equality with regard to gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.

This 38-month project will pilot and evaluate a Canadian-advocate designed model of case review of police investigations inspired by the Philadelphia Model with the aim of improving police response to sexual assaults. By working closely with frontline advocates, communities, and the police, the organization aims to improve police accountability and ensure transparency for sexual violence survivors and the public. With this objective, the project will support local communities to test the model, including through the provision of training, technical knowledge and tools, relational assistance with police services, and access to ongoing coaching. It will further lead the creation of an advocate community of practice in order to support reviewers and build consistency in advocate reviews across Canada. The project will also explore the feasibility of remote reviewing to increase the model accessibility.

This will be achieved by planning, developing, implementing and evaluating a victim-centered, trauma-informed and gender-responsive peer support and intervention model for youth survivors of human trafficking.

This 38-month project with the Women’s Support Network of York Region will develop and implement an intervention model that entails the provision of support and life choice options, community resources and self-efficacy development via trauma counselling, case management, advocacy, and program management and clinical supervision, with expertise in youth survivors of sexual violence to advance knowledge and enhance empowerment supports for survivors of human trafficking.

This will be achieved by providing individual crisis intervention, counselling, safety planning, mental health and substance abuse supports, support with systems navigation, access to healthcare, legal support, housing, education and job connections, and evaluation.

At the end of the project, the organization will have engaged and supported clients to develop their individual capacities and skills, to determine the course of their lives and community, and be empowered and supported in their natural abilities and capacities to handle their own affairs with maximized social well-being.

The project will include an external evaluation that will look at the success and scalability of the promising practices.

At the end of the project, the organization will have increased its knowledge and capacity to advance equality in terms of gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.

This 36-month project with PARTNERS Family Services Inc. will develop and implement a holistic, trauma-informed and culturally relevant program that assists in reintegration and healing, as well as community education and intervention practices to advance knowledge and enhance empowerment supports for survivors of human trafficking.

This will be achieved by delivering educational workshops to regional support organizations, empowering support to engage survivors of trafficking, developing resources to bring awareness of trafficking to regional hospitality industry, building partnerships with human services organizations in the region, and training for staff.

At the end of the project, the organization will have developed and implemented promising intervention practices that will advance knowledge and enhance empowerment supports for at-risk populations and survivors of human trafficking.

The project will include an external evaluation that will look at the success and scalability of the promising practices.
