SunDraco Power Inc. is developing a novel solar energy collection and storage technology. This project will use computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis to optimize the design of a key component of SunDraco's SunScoop solar collector: the heat exchanger within the receiver that captures reflected sunlight.

Commercial development of GeoGen’s technology will require optimization of the process design to maximize power output while minimizing cost. This project will use Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) modelling to better understand system performance to be able to deliver 100 kW of electricity per well.

In this project Corvus will collect, prepare, and analyze current Aircraft IP, including technical, regulatory, manufacturing, airworthiness aspects.

The result of this project will be a propulsion engine test cell that is mobile and capable of testing an engine that produces 5000 lbf thrust. The unit will be weatherproof and secure such that it can reside outside for the duration of tests and can be transported by truck with reasonable precautions against equipment damage.

The Small Teams project Quantum Photonic Integrated Circuits for Quantum Interconnects as a whole aims to develop a chip-based platform by which entangled photons can be generated and distributed between nodes in a quantum network. The emphasis of this particular collaboration, a sub-project of the Small Teams project will be on the development of technology that can deliver photons to external optical networks efficiently and at high rates in a robust package as required for practical implementation. Using nanowire quantum dot sources grown with a scalable site-controlled nucleation process and a transfer technique that allows for the incorporation of an arbitrary number of single emitters on-chip, the project team will develop a fully integrated on-chip platform for the production, manipulation and detection of quantum states of light. This collaborative project between Carleton and NRC will focus on, a fiber-to?chip coupling device with primary design targets of high-efficiency, polarization?insensitive and bandwidth-enhanced operation, as well as a reliable operation at 950 nm and 1550 nm.
