NetExperience is a provider of software solutions aimed at automating management of private and public Wi-Fi networks. NetExperience takes an innovative approach to networking by dissagregating the hardware components from the software layers.
To date, the focus of the software solution has been towards reducing human complexity in managing complex WI-FI networks.
This projects aims at scoping market opportunities and the technical feasibility to build a new monetization platform on top of the existing software infrastructure in order for Service Providers (SP) to leverage their investment in deploying large scale Wi-Fi networks. Several applications running on the new platform will provide specific monetization solutions to the SPs.

The project consists in reprogramming all the applications in ROS language, a language specially designed for the robotics field, which will allow them to be integrated in any autonomous robot in order to simplify the coding and installation process.

Apiaries and Bees for Communities (ABC Bees) will transition from a beekeeping company to a full-online training company, with comprehensive guides and programs that host curriculum and establish mentoring and networking services the beekeepers sector.

Truck-based delivery is a growing business service in Canada as the prevalence of e-commerce dramatically increases. This project aims to improve the efficiency and business capabilities associated with truck-based delivery systems. Currently, delivery companies operate on a first-come, first-served service basis, typically using manual scheduling methods. Because the demand and the associated deliveries are dynamic in nature, it is becoming increasingly challenging to accurately estimate vehicle resource requirements and to plan efficient delivery routes ahead of time. The objective of the Project is for the University of Calgary and the NRC to partner with industry partner Bison Transport to develop and implement AIbased methods and tools to help build an intelligent regional logistics network for truck-based delivery that satisfies service level goals using the minimum amount of delivery routes.

Engage Grants (EGP) are designed to give innovative companies that operate from a Canadian base access to the unique knowledge, expertise and capabilities available at Canadian universities and colleges. These grants are intended to foster the development of new research partnerships by supporting short-term research and development projects aimed at addressing a company-specific problem; that is, a problem related to the company’s core competencies or activities. The simplified application and decision processes enable university and college researchers to quickly undertake new research collaborations that extend academic expertise to these problems. The mutually beneficial projects are expected to result in economic benefits to the company and to Canada and build impactful longer term collaborations between the applicant and the company.

The Applied Research and Development (ARD) Grants are intended to provide companies that operate from a Canadian base access to the unique knowledge, expertise and capabilities available at Canadian colleges and to train students in essential technical skills required by companies. The mutually beneficial collaborations are expected to result in economic benefits to the company and/or Canada.
