About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

At the end of the project, the organization will have increased knowledge and capacity to advance equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression; and established and strengthened partnerships and collaborations to support the LGBTQ2 movement.

Stronger Together: Building Capacity for Yukon'S First Community Pride Centre

This 16 month project will strengthen the capacity and networks of the Queer Yukon Society to advance LGBTQ2 equality. This will be achieved by developing strategic programming, increasing managerial and board capacity, developing clear organizational governance structures, ensuring long-term financial sustainability, strengthening collaboration and building networks among rural and national organizations, as well as developing bilingual capacity within a pride centre. This project will specifically aim to engage Queer & Trans, Black, Indigenous, & People of Colour, Francophones, and LGBTQIA2S+ people living in Yukon's rural communities in the development of strategic programming.
At the end of the project, the organization will have increased its board and staff capacity, established solid territorial networks, joined and participated in Pan-Canadian networks, and developed a strategic plan, evaluation framework, and governance model that will lead to the creation of a community-driven and well-organized pride centre in the Yukon.

Greening the Global Financial System

Project activities include: (1) leveraging the United Nations (UN) platform to build international support for the strategy of the UN Special Envoy on Climate Action and Finance; (2) shaping the international narrative of private finance towards the need for every financial decision to take climate change into account; (3) working with Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), UN entities, and permanent missions to develop a clear understanding of the barriers to low-carbon, climate resilient investment in developing countries; (4) working with MDBs, UN entities, and the Conference of Parties (COP) Presidency on a common approach to aligning financial flows with the Paris Agreement; (5) working with UN entities, governments, the private sector, and civil society to deliver on the mandate of the high-level event on Financing for Development in the era of COVID-19 and beyond; (6) identifying solutions and strengthening commitments to mobilize climate finance, particularly for those interventions that reduce poverty and inequalities, with an emphasis on gender-based inequalities.
Direct beneficiaries of this project include UN member states, stakeholders in the financial sector, MDBs and UN agencies and departments. The Special Envoy’s focus on these influential actors helps reorient public and private capital flows to mainstream climate action, address gender inequalities and respond to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This will be achieved by: increasing evidence and knowledge of LGBTQ2 challenges and barriers; partnership development, collaboration, networking; supporting the ability to create opportunities for members of LGBTQ2 communities to gather, connect, network, share knowledge, and exist safely in a collaborative space.
At the end of the project, the organization will have developed a “Quality of Life” report; produced a safe spaces & resources report; completed an environmental scan; and created a regional network for LGBTQ2 supports.
