Grants and Contributions

About this information

In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.

The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.

Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Round Table and Action Plan Dedicated to Fighting Systemic Violence Against Women in Haut-Saint-François

Agreement Number:

GV21235

Duration: from Dec 15, 2021 to Mar 31, 2024
Description:

This 28-month project will develop and implement a multi-sectoral and integrated round table addressing violence against women and girls to address the root causes of gender-based violence. It will aim to make recommendations to key players in the Haut-St-François regional municipality (RCM) to fight gender inequality by creating one or more mechanisms in its 14 municipalities that encourage women and girls to speak out on violence issues through its multi-sectoral committee. The Haut-Saint-François community development corporation will achieve this objective by integrating the round table into a five-year action plan, by bringing together community, institutional and political partners committed to participating in one or more working groups, and carrying out project activities.

By the end of the project, the organization will have increased awareness and engagement within the regional community and institutions concerning gender equality and the eradication of violence against women and girls; implemented policies which are adapted to rural perspectives surrounding gender equality and involve the role of fathers; and integrated in the tools of Haut-Saint-François organizations a deeper understanding of the issues of marginalized women and women who have limited access to education.
