This 29-month project will develop and implement a mentorship program for boys and young men to address the root causes of gender-based violence. The Circle Salt Spring Education Society will achieve this by designing, implementing, and evaluating peer-mentorship, community mentor, and experiences-with-elders models to help boys and young men prevent and address gender-based violence in their communities.

At the end of the project, the organization will have developed a promising practice that will engage men and boys to combat harmful gender norms, advance gender equality, and increase networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change.

This project will involve annual multimedia storytelling activities to record and measure themes, topics, and core principles. A formalized curriculum will be developed to sustain the impact of the project model.

Supplemental funding in January 2024 will be used to offset unexpected costs for insurance, facilities and communications.

This 29-month project will support a feminist response and recovery to address the current impact of COVID-19, through systemic change. Réseau-Femmes Colombie-Britannique will achieve this by increasing awareness and engaging rural and urban community leaders, organizations representing underrepresented women, and other partners in the work of developing a citizen's charter, a strategy, and communication tools. This work will be shared at a provincial forum on community equity, and at francophone and anglophone community events, with government officials and institutions with a part to play in the inclusion of the voices of under-represented women.

At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by promoting inclusive policies and practices, expanding networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change, changing persistently harmful norms and attitudes, and promoting a positive distribution of authority and decision -making power and voices in support of women’'s equality.

Réseau-Femmes Colombie-Britannique comprises 15 groups throughout British Columbia. For this project, they will work with several other partners representing, among others, the following sectors: immigration, economic development, French school boards, health, women of African descent and First Nations.

This 29-month project will support a feminist response and recovery to adress the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Single Mothers’ Alliance of BC Society will achieve this by carrying out lone-mother led participatory action research; building partnerships, networks and alliances with stakeholders in urban centers and rural and remote areas in northern British Columbia (BC); developing and implementing action and advocacy plans; and mobilizing knowledge gathered in the project through lone-mothers’ summits, academic conferences, and policy dialogues to raise awareness and impact pandemic-recovery policy development with government, unions, and other stakeholders that advances gender equality in BC.

At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by advancing inclusive policies and practices, increasing networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change, supporting positive distribution of authority, voices, and decision-making power to support women’s equality.

The project will result in research and program design led by lone-mothers themselves with lived experience to assess the expansion of the BC’s Single Parent’s Employment Initiative, Employment Standards Act and welfare policy legislative reforms. Key partners such as the University of British Columbia and Unite Here! Local 40 (hospitality sector labour union), will assist with research and outreach targeting impacted black, racialized, and Indigenous single mother workers through all phases of the project.

This 29-month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Small Scale Food Processor Association will achieve this by engaging food policy organizations and foundations that fund food initiatives across Canada to create a national voice for women small scale food processors, analyzing and documenting current policy barriers impacting women in this industry, developing resources to build on an ecosystem model to support female small scale food processors, and by creating policy briefs with recommendations to advocate for change with provincial and federal ministries related to food systems and women’s economic security in British Columbia, Nova Scotia and Ontario.

At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by increasing networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change, encouraging more equitable and effective sharing of resources, and by advancing for inclusive policies and practices to support women’s equality.

Key partners PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise in Ontario and Farm Works in Nova Scotia will be deeply involved in the Project Advisory Committee and in developing a resource sharing plan and project activities in their distinct provinces.
