About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

The residence has been welcoming customers with reduced mobility for many years but in a very limited and punctual way, the center not being entirely adapted to the needs of this clientele. The scope of the work will consist of : The installation of an exterior access ramp to make the building accessible, in a compliant manner, to all persons with reduced mobility, including wheelchair users. The installation of all required door opening systems. The addition of 8 rooms (6 rooms for individuals using walkers or walkers + 2 rooms for individuals in wheelchairs), for a maximum total of 13 beds. The addition of 6 bathrooms/showers (4 bathrooms + 2 Italian bathrooms/showers for individuals in wheelchairs). The addition of a new laundry room adapted for all clients with reduced mobility.

SABORES de Honduras: Empowering Women and Youth in Coffee and Honey Value Chains

The project contributes to sustainably increase the economic empowerment of 15,000 women, men and youth in the coffee and honey value chains, by supporting the economic recovery in the context of pandemic, socio-economic shocks and climate change.
The project’s activities include: 1) implementing an equitable access to land program for women and young women; 2) training in education and financial management, leadership focused on women's rights and positive masculinities; and 3) establishing productive agroforestry systems; 4) creating a social enterprise from responsible private investments; 5) training for associations and social enterprises on good governance and inclusive management practices through the PerformCoop program, as well as on improving the quality of sales products; 5) implementing an innovative marketing and commercialization strategy; 6) establishing a microcredit and climate finance program; 7) establishing a coordination mechanism on the creation of an inclusive gender-sensitive business environment, also sensitive to environmental challenges; 8) establishing communication and advocacy mechanisms for the economic empowerment of women and young people with local and national stakeholders.

Women and Children from Artisanal Mining Communities

The project aims to improve the economic empowerment and well-being of women and children in artisanal mining communities in the Keniéba circle in Mali. Project activities include: 1) supporting approximately 1,400 women and 200 men working in the artisanal mines of Keniéba in the creation and structuring of local associations and savings groups; 2) training approximately 1,400 women and adolescent girls in modern, safe and environmentally friendly mining techniques and alternative sectors; 3) establish four incubation centers for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and support the creation, management and formalization of MSMEs by women and adolescent girls; 4) carry out awareness campaigns on the rights of children and women in relation to their work in the artisanal mining sector 5) strengthen the capacity of village protection and alert committees to identify and respond to cases of child labor in artisanal mines and support them in the implementation of programs for the reschooling of approximately 480 children between the ages of 8 and 13, including 240 girls; and 6) provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Mines to integrate measures to reduce child labor and promote respect for women's rights into regulatory and legal reforms related to the artisanal mining sector.
The project will directly benefit approximately 1,700 women, 400 men, and over 500 children (at least 50% of whom are girls) involved in the artisanal mining sector in the Keniéba cercle in the Kayes region. The project will indirectly benefit the entire population of women and children in these communes, approximately 33,300 adult women (18 years and older) and 78,000 children (0-17 years), and their households.

Accelerating green and climate finance in the Philippines

This project aims to improve the resiliency and environmental security of Filipino women and vulnerable communities through support for the climate financing environment in the Philippines. It seeks to create an innovative financing ecosystem that help increase investments into nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation and mitigation. Project activities include: (1) establishing a climate finance lab; (2) supporting climate data platforms for research in nature-based solutions finance; (3) training financial institutions to design and incorporate gender-responsive and green and climate-related policies in their lending programs; and (4) establishing an impact management system to report on SDG impacts of green and climate investments by the private sector and financing institutions.
The project’s nature-based solutions benefit at least 19 Peoples Organizations and 100 households. At least 3 communities benefit from nature-based solutions projects developed and matched with climate financing instruments. At the national level, the project builds capacity to develop innovative climate finance solutions and SDG impact monitoring of key agencies.
