The objectives of the Program are: .• promoting volunteerism among seniors; .• engaging seniors in the community through.mentoring of others; .• expanding awareness of elder abuse, including.financial abuse; .• supporting social participation and inclusion of.seniors; and .• providing capital assistance for new and existing.community projects and/or programs for seniors. .

This 20-month project will address organizational capacity needs to allow the organization to continue promoting social and systemic change towards gender equality for girls and young women. Key capacity building activities under this project will include: the development and implementation of a financial sustainability plan, with a focus on a funding and fundraising diversification strategy; programmatic planning and systems updates to integrate and mainstream results-based management processes; strengthening Board governance; and the development of new partnerships, for strengthened organizational sustainability.

This 7-month project will address capacity needs to allow the Assaulted Women's Helpline meet increased call volume due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The helpline has seen a surge in calls, rising exponentially each week, since the start of the pandemic. Because of the volume of calls, the organization’s tracking system has shown an increase in the number of dropped and unanswered calls because the lines are busy. The funding will help the organization manage the increased call volume until March 31, 2021.

This 19-month project will address capacity shortfalls and increased demand created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, this project will increase the number of employees and phone lines available to clients reaching out to the Assaulted Women’s Helpline. This will include additional lines for Deaf, deafen and hard of hearing communities and Non-English speakers. In addition to the increased capacity, AWHL will be able to increase the number of referrals to other services and the ability to train the staff to support abused women and children’s needs during the pandemic.

This 44-month project will address organizational capacity needs to allow the Jean Augustine Centre for Young Women’s Empowerment (J.A.C.) to continue promoting social and systemic change towards gender equality for girls and young women.
