Thee Idea to Innovation (I2I) Grants aims to accelerate the pre-competitive development of promising technology originating from the university and college sector and promote its transfer to a new or established Canadian company. The I2I Grants provide funding to college and university faculty members to support research and development projects with recognized technology transfer potential. This is achieved through defined phases by providing crucial assistance in the early stages of technology validation and market connection.

Alliance grants encourage university researchers to collaborate with partner organizations, which can be from the private, public or not-for-profit sectors. These grants support research projects led by strong, complementary, collaborative teams that will generate new knowledge and accelerate the application of research results to create benefits for Canada.

Agricultural stewardship for migratory birds in the Fraser River Delta

January 2021 - The World Health Organization (WHO) works with countries and partners to prepare for, prevent, respond to, and recover from, hazards that create health emergencies, including disasters, disease outbreaks, and conflicts. The WHO’s Contingency Fund for Emergencies (CFE) is a replenishable fund, which works to provide the resources necessary to rapidly scale up WHO’s initial, acute response to outbreaks and emergencies with health consequences. The Fund is designed to fill critical funding gaps from the beginning of an emergency until the organization can access additional sources of funds.

With GAC’S support, the CFE helps WHO react early to prevent the escalation of health emergencies. Project activities include: (1) deploying experts to assess outbreak threat; (2) delivering essential medicines, supplies and equipment; (3) providing training to health personnel; and (4) strengthening health sector coordination and health information systems.

Accelerating access to justice for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) persons in Kenya through training, legal counseling and targeted litigation

Building the capacities of rural, urban, Indigenous and Afro-Colombian women's organizations in 12 Colombian municipalities to promote inclusive governance and protection of their rights.

Creating and developing the ethnobotanical, pedagogical and environmental centre (CEPAQ) to foster economic growth and social development of youth in vulnerable situations in the city of Quibdó.
