Gender-Responsive Approaches and Efforts to Combat the COVID-19 Outbreak in Kosovo

This 3-month project will support the development and submission of a comprehensive project proposal to develop and adapt the “Ikajurniq” (Helping one another) approach as a promising practice for improving the capacity of emergency shelters to deliver culturally-appropriate services for women and children in Nunavut. Collaboration with local partner organizations will allow for the testing of enhanced programming and staff training to promote culturally safe and relevant practices tailored explicitly for Inuit women and children frequenting Nunavut shelters and the Umingmak Centre, a child advocacy centre for children and adolescents who disclose abuse. A rigorous evaluation of Ikajurniq’s capacity and training interventions will be conducted using the Piliriqatigiinniq Partnership model for Community Health Research.

This 33-month project will strengthen the organization's capacities to continue promoting social and systemic change in support of gender equality. Organizational capacities will be enhanced through capacity building in Gender-based Analysis Plus, human resources management, strategic planning, partnership development, collaboration and networking, and the development of an advocacy strategy.

Organizational capacities will be enhanced through the following activities: human resources management, strategic planning, partnership development, collaboration and networking, and the development of an advocacy strategy and Gender-based Analysis Plus.

This project aims to combat the impact of COVID-19 on human rights, particularly those of women and girls. Project activities include: (1) providing training to journalists to report on the status of human rights and women’s rights as affected by COVID -19 (for example, access to health-care/social services, etc); (2) providing training to journalists to identify mis/disinformation on COVID-19, to debunk dangerous myths in social media; (3) providing training to journalists to only report scientifically valid information to the public; (4) educating targeted communities on how to both identify mis/disinformation in the media and to source sourcing credible information regarding COVID-19; and (5) and providing training to communities to recognize when their human rights are not being observed due to COVID-19.

This project is being implemented in Gambia, Ghana, Iraq, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, and Yemen.

Promoting access to jsutice with a gender perspective for youth offenders, through courses, analysis, individual plans and a communications campaign, in Mexico City and Morelos

This 3-month project will support the development and submission of a comprehensive project proposal for an implementation plan to increase access to support for underserved populations and explore and evaluate new promising practices to engage in healing from gender-based violence (GBV). This project will develop, adapt, implement and evaluate culturally sensitive, gender-inclusive and accessible programs for specific groups of survivors of GBV in PEI.

Through the application of national and local priorities, the CSJ program seeks to provide youth, particularly those who face barriers to employment with access to work opportunities. Funded employers must demonstrate that they are providing quality work experiences for youth that provide opportunities to develop and improve their skills.

Mainstreaming gender into public policies and programmes in response to COVID-19 in Tuvalu

The project works to establish five regional gender equality networks (GENs) and meet regularly to provide a forum for regional information exchange on key transition issues.
