In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Nigeria – Response to Humanitarian Crisis – ALIMA 2020

In 2020, assessments indicate that 7.7 million people are expected to require humanitarian assistance, including emergency food rations, treatment for life-threatening severe acute malnutrition and other healthcare services, and protection for vulnerable women and girls at grave risk of sexual and gender-based violence.
With GAC’s support, ALIMA is providing access to life-saving emergency healthcare services to 75,500 conflict-affected people in Nigeria’s Borno state.

Humanitarian Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19) - UNFPA 2020

With GAC’s support, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is contributing to meeting the sexual and reproductive health needs of vulnerable women and girls, and preventing and responding to sexual and gender-based violence. Project activities include: (1) ensuring the continuity of national and local health system capacity to provide access to integrated quality sexual and reproductive health; (2) mitigating the impact on supply chain and logistics management for sexual and reproductive health supplies, ensuring continuity of supplies and care for life-saving sexual and reproductive health services; (3) providing and protecting health workers by ensuring that basic personal protection equipment is available; and (4) providing risk communication and community engagement for primary prevention and stigma reduction on COVID-19.

Quebec shall use the contribution paid under this Agreement to fund additional

Quebec shall submit public reports to Canada describing how the federal funds were spent and how they helped organizations provide services during the COVID-19 crisis.

Impact of Women’s Participation and Leadership in Peace Operations: Research and Dialogue
