Develop a fully integrated extrusion line with an in-house twin-screw extruder containing centralized electrical controls/communications and strategic sensors to enable real-time data monitoring/collection and analyses.

Investigate the technical feasibility of extending the current ontology-based CXN360 architecture into an ontology-of-ontologies architecture to allow the core CXN360 technologies to be rapidly adapted to service additional markets.

CXN360 data will be analyzed to provide improved market intelligence for community members.

Canada's Fisheries Fund will transform and drive innovation in the fish and seafood sector in Canada with a focus on developing the sector to better meet growing market demands for sustainably sourced, high-quality fish and seafood products.

In Kenya’s lake and coastal zones, this project will support women and youth entrepreneurs in the horticulture, poultry, and blue economy (fisheries) sectors. Specifically, it will support access to a mix of financing options, deliver gender-informed business development training, and subsidize environmentally sustainable business technologies for small businesses and entrepreneurs. The project will also work with community and government organizations to address harmful social norms and improve the business environment for women and youth. Altogether, these interventions will generate more lucrative and resilient livelihoods for women and youth; creating community spinoff benefits and contributing to a more inclusive COVID19 recovery in Kenya.

Project activities include: (1) supporting entrepreneurs and businesses to add value to their production in aggregation, storage, processing and logistics; (2) developing, administering and awarding matching grants; (3) assessing, identifying, and facilitating third party investors to provide targeted, mixed loans to the small businesses whose investment readiness has been de-risked by receiving project grants; (4) administering smart incentive schemes to help entrepreneurs acquire climate-smart technologies;(5) facilitating new or improved financial services and products for entrepreneurs; (6) developing, promoting, and administering financial education to entrepreneurs; and (7) engaging policy stakeholders and community leaders in dialogues to promote women’s empowerment and prevent sexual and gender-based violence.

The project expects to directly reach 250 small and medium sized enterprises (50% women-led and 40% youth-led at minimum); 30,000 entrepreneurs (60% women and 50% youth at minimum); and 100 local organizations.

The project seeks to enhance the dignity and rights of vulnerable Guyanese through strengthening availability and capacity of mental health services at both the school and community levels. Project activities include: (1) conducting gender equality, child rights and protection audits in target schools; (2) gender-sensitive training for school counselors in confidential counseling, screening and referral pathways in target schools; (3) training of peer mental health and addiction survivors in strengths-based resilience and crisis intervention, promoting communities of care and outreach to vulnerable people; (4) training of facility-based Health Care Workers in mental health management priorities; and (5) training of Community Health Workers in providing rights-based mental health service, substance abuse and suicide attempt first aid.

The project will benefit 67,250 men, women, boys and girls in vulnerable communities across Guyana.

This project supports legislatures in Ghana and Togo to be more inclusive, gender-responsive and transparent. It addresses barriers to women’s participation in democratic processes and amplifies women’s voices, including COVID-19 response and recovery efforts. The project also improves legislative engagement with civil society, particularly women’s rights organizations. Project activities include: (1) enhancing the capacity of legislatures to formulate and operationalize gender-responsive strategies and plans; (2) enhancing the capacity of legislatures to implement administrative reforms to enable gender-sensitive resource use and service delivery; (3) supporting legislatures to amend and pass inclusive gender laws, including gender-sensitive budgets; (4) supporting legislatures to set up systems to oversee the achievement of gender equality commitments by executive branches; and (5) enabling legislatures to connect with citizens, in particular women and girls.
